Ok we are going to buy something to have at home to make it a bit easier to workout. The extra time of packing up the kids and all that goes with getting to the gym is getting in the way of the workouts. We are going to get an elliptical machine. I was wondering if you have any recommendations out there and why you like the one you are recommending.

It depends a lot on your budget. The good ones are pricey. What’s your price range?
I would try them out at a store that sells exercise equipment..When I bought my treadmill, first I checked Consumer’s Report in the library and then I went and walked on several. I have loved mine; it endures and can still be repaired.
If your entire family will really use it regularly, go for quality, even if it costs more.
I am planning on trying it out. Just was wondering what people like and why they like it. Maybe that way I don’t have to get on every machine in every store.
Ok I don’t know if this is considered to be the best, but I am going to answer my own question just for future reference sake. We went and tried out a few machines and ended up with a Sole 35. It was a good performer and was on sale right now for $1200. I think we will be very happy with it.
Let us know how it holds up.
I have a treadmill and do pilates at home. Saves the hassle of going to the gym and saves money. A elliptical looks like this. I really don’t like them but if you like a intense workoout they might be for you.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elliptical_trainer
