Apparently women change their hairstyle around a hundred times throughout their lives. Ladies, does this sound about right to you?

Was reading about this in the newspaper yesterday. Some survey, don’t know how accurate it is. So I thought i’d ask the women on here what they think. Seems disproportionately high to me.Then what do I know. So how often do you change your hairstyle, do tell?

Due to my Russian, thick and unmanagable hair, I stick with a few styles that are flattering, easy and wash-and-wear.
seems low to me..lol
I have probably already had 100 hairstyles, and I’m just about to turn 28.
It’s not to me. My hair is as straight as a board, I’ve tried to do things with it, it rebels. So my “hairstyle” is however my straight hair grows. Even counting changeable hairdos, I don’t have more than 5.
Nope. I’ve had maybe 6 so far.
nowhere near that number and I’m 42… but then again, I’ve got probably the same thick (curly) hair that @gailcalled has too.
I guess I’m not sure. I change my hair style every single day. Yesterday I had it in a messy up-do with a bump and curls. Today I have it french braided in pig tails. However I rarely cut it and keep it long and straight. I just might have a ponytail one day and a bun the next and leave it down the next. I have only tried cutting it short a few times and I really don’t like it that way. Some of my friends get different kinds of haircuts quite often, and they also change hair color frequently. I think it is very accurate.
@ucme Maybe you should clarify the article/question. Are you asking about hairstyles from a cut/color/perm aspect only, or does it include up/down/braided/ponytail/hair accessories? It will make a boatload of difference in the #s.
Longer, shorter, layered, blunt – I guess the permutations make it 8.
Not a woman, but when i sometimes browse through old photos on which i star, i think i get to see about five, six different hairdos.
Varying from bowl cut to crew cut to Kojak cut to my present cut.
I read something about this, but can’t remember where. I don’t remember it being about women actually having 100’s of styles, but that they have hundreds of visits to a salon where they have the opportunity to change their style that many times.
I’ve had many, many hairstyles, but I’ve been wearing it the same way for the past few months.
No way. I changed my hair a lot when I was young; short, long, dyed, shaved, I did it all. Now I just want my hair to be easy to manage. I wear it long and change up the layers every once in awhile. If I had to put a number on it, it’s probably somewhere around 30.
I’m the same as @dynamicduo. Very straight hair, so I’ve had maybe only 5 hairstyles, a couple of memorable burnt fuzzy perms that I think I have bought all pictures of.~
Maybe some do, but I’ve had the same hairstyle since 1993, and I have no plans on changing it anytime soon.
If we’re counting things such as braids, french twists etc- then I could see 100 being too low. As far as basic hairstyles, I think I’ve had about six or seven since adulthood/puberty.
@Pied_Pfeffer Yeah haircuts/styles would just about cover it, if you were bald maybe ;¬}
Long hair, one style. Only difference? I now have a fringe.
Must be hereditary. My mother is still wearing a beehive…hasn’t changed it in fifty years.
Not really. Apart from a dodgy bob I had a few years ago my hair has always been long and layered slightly. I’m 24 years old and I have changed the style about 4 times so far.
Not for me. I really hate to experiment. Moving a lot has not helped me to always find a hair stylist I can trust. Many can’t seem to properly cut my hair. My hair is thick with a bit of body to it. It doesn’t always do what is expected of it, so I usually grow it out and then out of desperation find a hairstylist and have her cut it. She or he blows it and I let it grow out again. Keep it in a braid and then cut it again. I’ve probably tried 10 different styles since I was in my teens till now.
I’d say that’s pretty true for me. I changed my hair all the time during my teens, and only recently stopped messing with it and let it grow. But, having long hair is a style in itself.
Four or five time in my life so far. Mostly by accident, tho, not design.
Not for me, I’m safe with saying less than 15.
Absolutely. I’m a chameleon. I cut and color once a month. But my hair grows really fast, so I get chop-happy.
It’d be around six or seven I reckon. Some very bad looks among them I might add.
My hair’s got a partition in the middle and it just falls fails. It’s always been like that, and probbaly always will. Other than doing it in a ponytail, dying it or it just getting longer cuz I’m too arsed to cut it, it’s never changed much.
No. My number will be closer to five.
