What song best describes your life right now, why does it and what do you think the song's about?

Asked by Vincent_Lloyd (3007points) July 16th, 2010

Just wondering..What song best describes your life at the moment? It can be any song! ANY. From 80s love songs to 90s, 70, to the music we listen to now. The song that probably describes me now is: My curse by Killswitch Engaged. The songs about a guy that tries to find his lost love through books and at the end figures it out and gets to see the young lady. But that pretty much describes my life but with out the books and I think I already found my lost love. But Yes. What is your song? Why is it that song and what do you think the song is about and how it relates to you?

Just read the lyrics.

Oh my story is not the oldest of it’s kind.
I was too touched to see you clearly,
Far too young to realize I had loved so dearly you,
Who’s world I had designed,
But the sweet smoke came with mirrors
And it brought tears to my wide eyes.
Dying just to see you…
Dying since I misconstrued your blue heart,
Black eyes, feigning falling, words I won’t forget.
I died right when I saw you while you shared that cigarette.

Oh I saw you every time I closed my eyes,
In the Hughes film I had scored,
Produced and starred in, in my mind.
I could recite you, well, I’d written every line…
But you strayed far from my flawless script
On which I’d spent a lifetime!
Falling over dead.
Dying since I had misread your blue heart,
Black eyes, feigning falling, words I won’t forget.
I died right when I saw you while you shared that cigarette.

“Count Your Blessings” from the movie, “White Christmas.”

When I’m worried and I can’t sleep
I count my blessings instead of sheep
And I fall asleep counting my blessings
When my bankroll is getting small
I think of when I had none at all
And I fall asleep counting my blessings

Okay, okay—so I’m a big softie.

Throughout my life, I feel like I’ve related to hundreds and hundreds of songs.
This is hard, but at the moment, I’d have to say How to Disappear Completely by Radiohead and Breathe Me by Sia.
Open Your Eyes by Snow Patrol is another one, but it’s more so how I view someone else’s life who is very important to me.
I know there’s many more though for various reasons.

To me, it’s probably Silent Shout by The Knife.
OR Wrapped In Piano Strings by Radical Face.
Either way applies.

This is it.
This is life, the one you get,
So go and have a ball.

This is it.
Straight ahead, and rest assured,
You can’t be sure at all.

So while you’re here, enjoy the view.
Keep on doing what you do.
Hold on tight, we’ll muddle through
One day at a time.

So up on your feet!
Somewhere there’s music playing.
Don’t you worry none,
We’ll just take it like it comes,

One day at a time. (One day at a time.)
