Also, max out every workout day (but rotate what you’re working on each day). The book Body-4-Life has a regimen that gets you to max out.
We all are ripped – just some of us hide it under a layer of flab is all. :-) Anyway, I can’t answer the amount and sets of reps – but I do know that in order to “get ripped” you do have to make sure that there really is no layer of fat hiding that muscle. You will probably have to increase your cardio also. I know that women builders change their routines about 6 weeks prior to shows and quite a few of them mostly cardio in order to shed the fat overcoat (however small it may be). And you have to eat VERY clean (little fat, lot of protein and high quality, low glycemic carbs in small meals). And be very stingy with any salt (check product packaging) because water retention (bloat!) can give you a soft – uncut look no matter how sleek those muscles are underneath.
90% diet, 10% Exercise. Concentrate on the diet!
Its going to take some time, especially if you are not already in decent shape. Take it slow at first, you don’t want to injure yourself or become too sore early on.
