How do you know if someone likes you?

In school, my friends are always like,” He likes you!!”. And I’m like,“How do you know?”. And they say it is because they are staring at me. So, how can you tell if a guy likes you?

If someone likes you, they will go out of their way to get your attention.
@Luffle Is usually right. But the attention they are choosing can be negative instead of positive. They could be abusive, they might stalk you, they might try to even ruin you social life (Depends on how mean and psychotic they are though) But likely if he stares at you and tries to talk to you, it should be your sign that he is into you :D

Always stares at you. (he could just be day dreaming of some nasty things though)
