Has anyone been to language school in the Army?
What is it like? Is there a curfew? Do you sleep in barracks? Do PT? Let me know! My bf is going to Monterrey, CA and I don’t know how it’s going to work if I visit haha.

Its been a long time since I was there, mid eighties but we were not allowed visitors for the first few months as it was complete imersion. Not sure what it is called now but it was Defense Linguistics Institute when I went. We were allow just a few phone calls in English a week and we could write letters but there were no visits.
You stayed at that time in 4 person rooms, not barracks did limited PT, and we were not allowed off the base for months.
Your bf will be so busy that you won’t get much time to see him. Better to plan to let him concentrate on the course and get done with it, then celebrate when he graduates.
I was told from him that he was going to have a set schedule from 8am-4pm and weekends off. Unless he is way wrong
My husband went there several years ago (back in the late 90s). I can ask him what it was like back then the next time I talk to him and I’ll let you know.
