Can i get some words/word groupings that include the letters DI?

Asked by kimmisofly4 (68points) July 21st, 2010

The D or I has to either be next to each other in the word or at the start of the two words. This is for my Destination Imaginaiton team. They have to go in the order of the D being presented in the word or word grouping first then the I. :)

Welcome to Fluther!

There are online word dictionary/listings that will give you every conceivable available word. Here is but one.

@ipso Isn’t that cheating? It’s for a Destination Imagination group, not a regurgitation group. (If i spelled it right)

gailcalled's avatar

Is the collective giving examples not cheating? A dicey situation.

But using fluther was so imaginative… And with over 4000 words to choose from they will have to be super imaginative on which ones to pick; for artistic reasons, not groping for vocabulary.

We were just takin’ it to the next level.

“Destination ImagiNation’s educational goals are to foster creative and critical thinking, to develop teamwork, collaboration and leadership skills, and to nurture research and inquiry skills involving both creative exploration and attention to detail.”site

Using Fluther occasionally when you are stumped squarely meets that criteria in my book. : )

Are you really stumped? That would be disheartening. Have you tried to generate a list before asking us? It’s not so difficult,
either for an individual or the collective. Your reasoning sounds disingenuous.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

It’s picking through a list, not working the mind to come up with your own list. Nice gailcalled. dicey, disheartening, disingenous, distinctively creative.

@Adirondackwannabe: You missed inDIvidual and DIfficult, but you did get the point. Answering this is briefy diverting.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

I must have been dizzy from the challenge. If you can come up with one after that I’ll publicly bow to your greatness.

gailcalled's avatar

@Adirondackwannabe: Just one? Hot diggitty dog.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

@gailcalled I was going alphabetically. It would have to be after dizz.

Look to the zodiac

gailcalled's avatar

@Adirondackwannabe: NIce of you to clarify that now. I think it’s impossible.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

@gailcalled If I come up with one what do I get?

Sarah Palin just gave our language a new word that fits your criteria:

Refu DI ate

Not quite in the DI ctionary yet. DI g around some contemporary news stories, and I’m sure you’ll find some DI llies.

@Adirondackwannabe – Oh man, “zodiac” is after dizzy. No credit?

(I just happened to have watched that movie recently.)

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

@ipso I was going by the letter(s) after the di. Dick before Did, but I’ll give you half credit. What would you like half of?
Would dizzywood come after dizzy? (Cheated, used google) :(

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

@gailcalled It’s some kind of game. Dizzyass, dizzybit**... dizzywood?

gailcalled's avatar

@gailcalled: So, like the post-modernists here, I can invent a word when I feel like it?

Dizzyyodel? Dizzyziddy? Dizzyzizzy? Why not?
