What are some neat ways you use dropbox?

I love this application. It has so many uses. Do you use it in a special way that no one else does?

I’m not alone in these, but I think they are pretty neat:

I use KeePass to store my various passwords, and save its database file in my Dropbox folder. So I can open KeePass on three different computers and it’s always up-to-date.

We used a shared DropBox folder at work, so everyone has the same set of key documents on their machine at all times.

The versioning has saved me a couple of times. A document was erased or altered accidentally and DropBox had a previous version in the online backup.

I bought last year it for my creative/production staff so that our onsite graphics folks and offsite graphic vendors could share files. We also use it as a repository for older files that can be easy accessed by anybody who needs to update something,. Works like a charm.

They have an Android app so you can access all your files in your dropbox on your phone. Its pretty sweet.

I use to put my PDF format flight tickets in it, and when I check in I just use my phone to open the document and scan the barcode with the check-in machine. This way I don’t have to print out the ticket.

I started using Dropbox in the Deserts of Australia, which is the other side of the planet for me. We bought 50GB’s of storage and unlimited acces to deleted data. The software ran from my laptop and on PC’s and Mac’s in the Netherlands. Whenever video of photo’s where put in the dropbox folder, i started to hunt for a phone signal and started uploading. I worked beautifully. The end result was an almost live production. The edited end results were broadcasted on the same day it was recorded.

Now I don’t need the 50GB anymore so I dropped to 2GB again. I’m in a small business with another partner and we basically work from our homes. Dropbox syncs every invoices, customer file, bookings, you name it. So if you have one or more friends you frequently share stuff with, go!
