Have you ever taken the Disneyland guided tour?

Asked by tinyfaery (44249points) July 23rd, 2010

Not Disneyworld. Disneyland.

I have been going to Disneyland for my entire life. In all that time, I have never taken the guided tour. The wife and I are heading over there later this afternoon and we were thinking about taking it.

Have you ever taken the tour? What was it like? Is it worth the time? Really. Is there something I haven’t seen or don’t know about Disneyland?

Having been to Disneyland multiple times myself, I honestly can’t think of anything I would rather do less than take a guided tour. But that’s just me.

It is so easy to get around that I never took the tour. The layout of both are very similar.
The only reason to take the tour for me would be to be shown priority and hitch a ride on a hot day. And to maybe learn something new..

The only tour I’ve taken at DL is the “A walk in Walt’s footsteps” tour. It was okay, but not great. It didn’t really give me any information that I didn’t already know. But I’m completely Disney obsessed. I imagine the average guest would learn a wealth of new knowledge.

Yes, the tour is very informative and shows many parts of the park that you don’t see by just walking around. However, unless you are interested in the technical side, “how do they do that” sort of thing, it would be a waste of time. I loved seeing the wardrobe/costume room, as I was a costume designer at the time.

@YARNLADY In that case, if it’s a behind the scenes technical tour, I’d be all over it like a cheap suit. That sounds cool.

@Rarebear There are more than one version of the tour, be sure you get on the one that will visit the things you are interested.
