Do you have some genetic trait that has made your body different from some? If so, what is it?
Be it rare or someone common, we all must have some genetic physical trait that you, or others, have noticed.
I was on a beach vacation with my family one year and mentioned that my pinkie toenails are “cleft.” The siblings all said that they had the same thing. No clue what causes it, but it must be something genetically passed on.
I can roll my tongue up into a “U” like Mom, but some of the family cannot.
What about you? Care to share?

For most of my life my fingernails were so strong I could use them as screwdrivers.
I have dangling earlobes. My husband has attached earlobes. My son has one of each. I think that’s awesome. ^_^
I have a mole in the shape of a star under my right arm.
My younger brother and I have identically matching freckles, not counting the above-mentioned mole. We are not twins.
I can make that rumbling sound in my ear. Someone on Fluther had a word for that, but I can’t remember what it was.
I have these huge, enormous buck teeth. It’s not that rare, but it certainly is something people notice on me.
Saws down some trees
My family all have perfectly shaped toes.
Delta F508. Delta F508 is the most commonly occurring mutation of the CFTR gene, and is responsible for about 70% of all cystic fibrosis cases. (source). I have that one. The damage it did is not something you can see on the surface of my body, but believe me, it is pretty significant. Thank God for modern medical technology. Thank God I didn’t get two of those genes. I’d be dead by now. One is bad enough (though not life threatening).
My apologies to all for the typo in the description. It should be “something” and not “someone”.
@YARNLADY What do perfectly shaped toes look like?
My sister can turn her tongue over sideways. I do not have ear lobes They come around narrowly to my head but do not hang down.
Wow @YARNLADY those are some beautiful toes. Mine pale in comparison with the second toe being much longer on both feet.
@YARNLADY those aren’t your toes, though are they? perfect is subjective. My toes used to be in ok shape, but wearing heels for the working world has had it’s impact.
Strong jaw, widow’s peak, moles, can do the u tongue thing too….nothing big.
@Seek_Kolinahr I also have matching freckles with both of my sisters. We all have two small beauty marks on our right cheeks, in the same two spots on all 3 of us.
I have really big eyes. It’s not unusual or anything, but it’s always the first thing people notice about me.
@KhiaKarma no, not my actual toes, but a sample that resembles mine and the toes in my family.
Poliosis aka the white hair birthmark. Plus a widows peak.
I have thin hair? :( I think the rest of me is pretty “normal”, i suppose. Oh, and i have sensitive teeth, or something? Haha, dunno if that counts.
I have a genetic defect with my eyes, which means I was born blind in one eye and have poor vision in the other. I have a cousin with the same thing.
Super flat feet, they are a family trait from my father’s side of family. Most of my grandchildren have the same feet.
Almost had them photo’d for a orthopedic textbook while in grammar school.
I have a lot of large moles, some on my face, just like my mother and grandmother do. I have them on my forehead and they have one above their upper lip. The rest of them are on our stomach, hips, thighs, shoulders, neck and back.
I kind of have some large ears that stick out a little bit like my grandmother does.
And I have a gap in my two front teeth like several people do in my family.
I have a brown horseshoe birth mark on my green eye (the iris)
I have asymmetric eyebrows. One is arched like the devil. The other is a straight line. People accuse me of having them done professionally. My eyes are also a weird shade of gold green.
