What makes some cigarettes smell like pot?

If it smells like pot, it probably is. People that smoke pot can also smoke cigarettes. Maybe they smoked pot before smoking a normal cigarette.

I’m not sure what a girt is but some people like to smoke pot using brown cigarette paper because it burns better. After they are done preparing the pot, it looks almost like a normal cigarette.

I’ve never smelled a cigarette that smelled like pot. Maybe you’ve only smelled shit weed? That’s the only thing I can think of.

Sometimes a pot/cig smoker will put an extinguished joint in his cigarette pack. The tobacco cigs will absorb some of the pot smell and have a pot aroma when smoked.

Cloves smell a lot like weed. I get accused of smoking weed all the time when I have cloves.

umm thing is if you smoked before or toked before you’d KNOW the difference between the smell..but the reason for someone smelling like it is because smell has weight and pot is very potent in smell and once burned it carries through the air it can cling to a person easily.

@woodcutter haha…I have a good friend that hid her pot smoking from her husband for years. I don’t know how she did it, but it’s true. He was clueless.

well I have been around cigs my whole life and to me they all smell alike, meaning I don’t care for it so whenever a strange smelling cig is going it strikes me as something going on. It doesn’t smell exactly like pot but it is pot like. Leading me to wonder what else could it be. I probably should get high then, if only to reset the olfactories, yeah that’s the ticket.

I have dabbed a little hash oil on a cigarette and smoked in public settings before. Maybe this practice goes on under your nose and you never knew what was really going on.

One way to find out. Go to Wal-Greens and buy a piss test and confront your wife. Seems like it is her you keep smelling it on.

Fact of the matter is this:
Some cigarettes smell like pot every now and again. If you’ve not smelled then perhaps you are the ones that are stoned. I just asked a room full of smokers why they think this happens and someone said said it is one of the chemical compounds. SO when your smoke has to much of one of the terrible crap chemicals, it will smell of pot.

Back in high school, sone of my friends would dump half of the tobacco out of the cigarette, and fill it weed.
The reason they did it that way was if a teacher did a double take on them, they would only see the cigarette, and smell the regular smoke from it too.

Cloves smell a bit like pot as others here have said.
Also Rose Gold is a brand of vegetal cigarettes that are often used on stage so the actors don’t have to smoke tobacco. They also smell like pot.

I’ve been told my cigarette smelled like pot before (by someone who knows the smell), and it was from a new pack. There was no monkey business going on, I certainly wasn’t high, and I couldn’t smell it myself. It’s happened to me more than once when I’m smoking Parliaments. Not sure what the deal is though, but I just wanted to confirm that it’s possible.

My wife has been using the same brand for so long I forget when. When the cost of smoking went through the roof she went to one of the cheaper brands and buys them on the “res”. It doesn’t happen often but every now and then I detect that odd smell. I’m wondering if there any cases of over zealous cops being fooled like this enough to initiate a search for contraband?

I doubt that there are many people who have had tobacco in as wide a variety of ways as I have since most nicotine addicts find one form they like and stick with it. Accordingly, I question the ability of many people to identify various smokable items quite as well as I can. And I have never seen a clove that smelled or tasted like pot. Trust me, I’ve been around enough clove smokers (myself included) and pot smokers to know the difference!

However, a beedi is a whole other story. The unflavored ones taste a little like 420 and smell similar enough to at least raise a few eyebrows even amongst those that know better. The flavored ones… well, they generally taste like soap; the flavoring agents are horrid!

Because it probably is pot. Clove ciggs do not smell like pot. I have never had foreign ciggs. There aren’t any ciggarettes that smell like pot.

@SVTSuzie uhhhhn yea they do. I smoke both pot and cloves….. It isnt exactly identical but when you first smell it there is a small bit of time where you can think hmmm that may be weed but it may be cloves. To someone inexperienced you may think its pot.

@uberbatman You must have gotten some bad shit then, or maybe they mixed it. You have to be quite inexperienced to confuse them.
That said, I have had cheap cloves that tasted like lawn clippings, but a good clove like a Djarum Black isn’t even close to 420. Maybe you need to switch brands?

I smoke djarum blacks. Cant get the cigs anymore since they are banned (fuckin flavor ban) so just cigars. But no, i get good weed. Im just telling you its been confused. I smoke cigs at work. I had one in the bathroom one time, after i left a customer went in there. When she came out, she went to the manager and told him someone had been smoking weed in the bathroom. He tried explaining it was the clove but she swore it was weed. Im just tellin ya it happens.

is clove a kind of tobacco or is it the kind you stick in a Christmas ham only finely ground up so it will smoke?

@uberbatman Let us hope that Indonesia wins it’s fight in the WTO over this and gets cloves back in the US. THe reason for the ban holds no water since the reasons behinad it are invalid; most teens smoke menthols, which are solely produced in the US (the only flavor we make), so it’s a clear case of trade discrimination.

@jerv I agree, its bullshit. I dont know any teen who started with cloves. Fuck….. most peole dont even know what the hell cloves are in the first place. And come on… if a kid wants to smoke, theyre going to smoke whatever they can get their hands on (and im betting its not the expensive pack of cloves). I mean my first cig was a marlboro red (BLACH >_<)

@papayalily since i started smoking cloves, i cant smoke normal cigs. But i do find the activity to be quite fun unlike you i suppose. Cloves are great….

@uberbatman My baseline anxiety level is drastically different from most peoples, and stimulants – especially in excess, tend to create anxiety instead of sooth it.

So i have a question… Is there a cigarette that is called 420 that is legitimately a cigarette???
