It is a reminder to myself to not be so harsh and emotional.
In all things, seek Kolinahr – the attainment of perfect logic.
It is a nickname I have had since I was a kid :)
I like flowers and I’m a “gurl”.
Mine is a real life nickname, but people are too lazy and just call me “ducky.” I don’t mind it at all because I’ll even say ducky, instead of ducky_dnl..but it’s actually duckydnl and it’s pronounced just like the way you read it. :P
A name I “acquired” when I was 18 and got my first ‘68 Camaro!
Combination of my initials, an extra letter to get that nice ‘rpm’ look & the word pseudonym. Came up with it some time ago because I needed a pseudonym (can’t remember why anymore) & jokingly threw this together. It stuck & I’ve enjoyed how it looks/sounds ever since. It has a nice rhyme & flow to it, when broken up into two parts. Are-Pee Em – Sue-Dough Nyme.
ucme, icu, everybody’s happy…..ish! Just a random pick, kinda stuck.
Robert A. Heinlein novel. You grok?
My original screen name on Wis.dm was DutchCat. Then there was this huge battle between some of us and the Power Rangers over saving the kingdom of Yuchenation. My friend, “Balmung” christianed me “Dutchess,” and it stuck. The really bad part was, a year later I got Firefox spell check, and it was only then that I realized it wasn’t spelled right! That prompted me to post a question “Has it ever taken you a year to get a joke?” Don’t tell anybody that I didn’t know it wasn’t spelled right for a long time! It’s embarrassing! But, Balmung turned a traitor in my court so I threw things at him, like flaming pumpkins and stuff. That was my first experience with how absolutely delightful a social networking site can be! And it struck me that me, a grandma, could become really friends with a 16 year old!
Daytona Mistic r.i.p. Daytona and Mitic were my cats. i had Daytona my whole life. he got sick so we humanly euthanize him. Mistic was around for 3 years and disappeared.
It’s my an abbreviated version of my nickname in high school.
I’m named after my mother so I’m legally “the second”, it even says so on my birth cert. Although many databases list my last name as Ii…very confusing Sometime in the 70’s a friend heard about that and started calling me “the Tooth” and it stuck Gee, we all thought it was terribly clever at the time!
I thought I had grown older and wiser, but after joining fluther I’m beginning to have second thoughts. tehehe!
Downtide was the nickname of one of my ancestors, who was a fisherman and lifeboatman. I “stole” his name for myself (even though I’ve only been to sea once in my life).
Doolittle = Love animals, know about animals, and can speak to animals.
@JilltheTooth You must have been wild, girl! Tattoo’s weren’t all that popular in the 70s!
@Dutchess_III : Especially not for a young lady of my socioeconomic status. Imagine the delight of my republican, ultra-conservative parents! the bastard child I had didn’t thrill them much either, but they love her dearly for all that!
@JilltheTooth So you were the ultimate “Freak” aye! We probably would have been friends, although I would have done just a lot of watching!
A long time ago I was trying to make a name for a different site, and I really wanted CherryBlossom. However, it was taken, but I wanted to keep the Cherry. I also love Honey Sempai, but I wanted a name that I could use everywhere and HoneySempai would probably be taken at places, too…so I combined the two!
Cherry (Blossom) + (Honey) Sempai = CherrySempai (!)
