A cheap/free meeting space in Seattle (with a chalkboard)?

Asked by finkelitis (1917points) July 29th, 2010

I’m holding enrichment math classes for small groups of kids, and I’d like to reserve/rent a space to use for our meetings. Basically, I need a small classroom that can seat 10–15 comfortably and has a chalk board or white board. Anyone have any ideas?

Seattle is a rather big metroplex. Could you be more specific as to a desired location?

Capitol Hill, Wallingford, the U district, or Ravenna would be ideal.

Could you check the local library? The library here has rooms that you can rent out for a price. Seattle is a big city so I’d assume yours would too, or at least one library there.

@finkelitis Sorry, but that is a bit South of where I am familiar with. :(

Unfortunately, you can’t use libraries for any services where you charge a fee.

@dverhey Yeah, the library systems (plural) in King County are a bit… different.

Aha, yeah. It’s been a long time since I’ve been to Seattle, and I didn’t know you were charging. I suppose it makes sense though.

How about a local church or synagogue? They have classrooms for religious school.

Parks and recreation departments have rooms for rent.
