Do you make your bed in the morning?

When I was younger I used to make my bed in the morning because my mom made me. I have never made my bed since I lived on my own unless I was expecting company the was going to take a tour of the house. I do not understand the purpose of making your bed every morning and I really don’t understand throw pillows you can’t sleep on. I should mention that I am female and yes I change my sheets every week. Is this something that stopped with the baby boomers (my parents age) or are people still making their beds and why? I mean who is going to see it? Isn’t that just a waste of time you could be doing something else?
