What scissors to buy for cutting hair?
I am in the market to buy a pair of scissors to cut my bangs and my boyfriends hair. I guess just a good quality of multipurpose hair cutting scissors. However, I am unfamiliar with all the options available to hairstylists. I also don’t want to spend more than $20. What are some good brands and websites? what is the type of scissors called?

Your best bet would be to go to a beauty supply store and ask the people there.
:( those are really expensive… I guess i should think of it as saving money on actually going to the hairstylist and paying +$15 just to get my hair trimmed.
Ill try e-bay, maybe some beauty school dropout is trying to unload their supplies.
@Rememberme: Sadly, those were the cheapest. The Japanese prices ranged from $150 to well over $1000. Four trips to the salon plus tips would be c. $68. You want scissors (like quality cooking knives) that will keep their edges.
To make your hair stand on end, check out these prices.
I tried to buy some for the same purpose, and was floored by how much they cost. Professional stylists often pay upwards of $150.00 for halfway decent scissors, and $300.00+ for good ones. I bought a cheap pair and they were awful. Worse than using my orange handled office scissors! However, my husband already owned a small pair of scissors for trimming his beard/mustache and it turns out they work quite well on my bangs, too.
I bought a shaver ( connair ) for my boyfriend and it included a pair of scissors, medium size and very gentle with my hair ( I cut my own ) so, I bought them at Target.
