So cheap; on paid programming. They seem really neat and I’d like to try one IF IT DOESN’T HURT THEIR EARS. anyone?

Worthless. Save your money. I tired two different kinds of ultrasonic bark stop devices and they did nothing. Westies. 2 years old.
The electric shock collars work quickly and effectively.
I couldnt use those, wg, but the collars that spray a lemon scent work well. They’re just a hassle to put on and the batteries wear down. thanks.
@Aster You are too kind.
The shock collars are adjustable. You don’t have to set the phasers to stun all the time. A mild buzzzt! is enough.
Ultrasonic devices don’t work.
But a good shock does.
I’ve never found a device or trick yet for that shuts up the constantly barking dogs next door. I’d be suspicious of this remote, starting with its Ronco-type name. ;-)
ok; I wont buy one. thanks.
@Austinlad That sounds awful. Only barking we hear is our own dogs! I guess most people are smart enough to have learned they keep you stuck at home. Now I love them So much I can’t leave them. )-:
I tried the citronella dog collar on one of my dogs. Useless. The other dog has eczema, so I didn’t try it on her.
I approached a dog psychologist, and she told me that as soon as they began to bark I should remove them from the rest of the ‘pack’ ie take them in to another room. Leave them there until they calm down, then reintroduce them. Keep doing this until they understand that you are the alpha dog, and barking is not acceptable.
I use this form of training, and it sometimes works!!
We have Lhasa apsos – similar to your dogs – so I know the temperament of your dogs!! They are only small but like to be heard – just like mine!
We just bought a ‘dog repeller’ which is an ultrasonic hand-held device, for our neighbor’s dog that is outside our bedroom window. Aris cannot get it to do the job, but I can. When I use it, within 3 or 4 barks, the dog is quiet, curled on the porch, under a chair, whining slightly. Then he is quiet until the owner comes out and lets him in. I figure a couple days of this and the dog will quit waking us up every time we try and sleep. The owner does not seem to care, so we have no choice.
@Keysha that sounds like the barkoff I was asking about. It’s like a remote control and u push a button when a dog barks and he stops . They are ten bucks on tv.
The one I bought is called Dog Repeller, by Pet Parade. I bought it on Amazon for $8.99.
