As far as I know (and I could be wrong), there’s no way to stop people from being able to find you unless you use a different name and email address. Which would make it slightly more difficult for people you want to find you to find you.
Yes this is possible, go to Privacy Settings then click View Settings under “Basic Directory Information” then click on the first settings and edit who can search for you. Hope i helped
@rawrgrr is right—you can edit your privacy settings so you don’t come up in facebook’s search feature.
You can also take it a step further and block specific people if you know they are on facebook and you don’t want them to contact you. Look up the person’s name in the search box, then scroll down to the bottom of their page and clock on “report/block this person.” You’ll then be able to check a box to block that person so you are basically invisible to them on facebook. I’m not sure how invisible you’d be; for example, if you have friends in common, I don’t know if your activity on your friends’ pages would be hidden from the person you’ve blocked. However, they won’t be able to find you in a search or contact you through facebook in any way.
@rawrgrr has it right. You will also need to look at how the rest of your profile is set up to see if they would be able to view your posts through your friends pages.
Yes, no one can do a search and find me, unless they are a “friend of a friend”.
Go to your privacy settings. You can also set it so that you don’t show up on google from there as well. The privacy settings button is in the top right corner of the facebook homepage.
Change your settings as @rawrgrr suggests and you can even choose that friends of your friends can see your screenname on their friend lists but not your profile pic or any of your information. I’ve had mine set to Friends Only for over a year and so far no problems or irritations.
go to your private settings like rawrgrr was explaining
