Why is it such a pain to take a self portrait with the iPhone?!

One trick is to hold the button down and turn the phone, when you release it will take the pic!

they should make a way to take pics by touching almost newhere on the screen.

what you do is ask someone to take it for you….............great, dude just ran off with my phone!

Good idea, Squirbel! I will try that :) Still weird placement of the button…I hope it gets moved when an update comes through.

A fullscreen trigger like tobserb suggested would be so awesome…

If there were a full-screen shutter button, I’d wind up with so many more accidental photos! I use the technique of holding the shutter button while aligning the shot then releasing it when I’m ready for nearly every photo, because my hands aren’t very steady.

I do best with mirror shots for self-portraits; but when taking one straight-on, it helps to line-up so you see the reflection of your nose in the Apple logo on the back :)
