Probably the one where I bit off my own bottom lip. Not a great scar, but makes for a hell of a story.

I have a couple of scars of teeth marks on my willy. My first gf did that at a moment of excitement, and was shocked that she drew blood.

I assume you are referring to surgery scars, knife scars and bullit scars, correct?

If so, here is one: while investigating a homocide and looking for the murder weapon, my detective partner and i were attempting to move a triple dresser in the crime scene bedroom. i felt a short pain in my lower intestines. the pain did not hit me for about 15 minutes. then, all hell broke loose. i was taken to the ER with a diagnosed double hernia. all my intestines were searched. i now have an eight inch scar from my belly button down to my (unmentionables). it took two years for the healing and the pain to go away. never did find that murder weapon.

When I was ickle, maybe three or four. I was drinking a glass of milk while wandering around. An unnoticed magazine on the floor met my stride & ooops!!! The glass left a scar inbetween my eyes. Nothing glamorous but hey that’s my story.

I have a friend who was one of my keepers at the facility that I worked at and she went to a SCA event (Penzig?, Pennsic?) and the after hours parties were pretty wild (there was one specifically for people who liked to be flogged). They were sitting around a campfire one night showing off and telling stories of their scars (lances, archery, swords, etc) and when they got around to the scars crawling down the length of her shoulder and arm, she could honestly say that they were from a leopard attack. She won that contest.

I have two scars on the right side of my abdomen, one a bit above my navel and one a bit below it, from brain surgery. Yep. The only visible signs of my brain surgeries are on my belly.

I have scars on my hands. I can’t quite get the hang of the rule to remove things from an oven: out then up. Usually this happens with lasagna, for some reason. So the back of my hands have several scars due to touching the top part of the oven.

So…. yeah. There you go.

When I was a young kid I had a (real) sword that I liked to swing around outside. I finally dropped it one day and as it fell to the ground, the tip of the blade rotated skyward and sliced fairly deeply into my right wrist.

I was actually able to look into the wound before it started bleeding and I could see a great blue vein pulsing on the other side of a thin wall of skin. Then it started bleeding, and it was like minute little specks of red appearing on the walls of the wound, and they slowly got bigger until the wound filled with blood and I ran into the house and ran my wrist under cold water for like five minutes and finally told my mother and we went to the ER and I got six stitches.

I had to explain to people that, no, I had not tried to kill myself.

That sword is gathering dust now.

I have a very faint scar on my right wrist that was given to me by a vacuum cleaner. People thought that I had tried to kill myself because of the placement of the wound. I just kept insisting that it was a vacuum cleaner, which was the truth. I was trying to put it in the back of my car, and I slipped and sliced my wrist on the end of the plastic suction tube. It hurt like hell.

I cut off half my thumb tip with the bread cutting machine when I was a child and I burned off a large swath of skin off my upper leg by pouring a cup of 100 degree hot water on it. I also went to school next day with the untreated burn.

None of mine are good stories, quite boring actually. I have a scar from where i had my appendix removed years ago. And i have 2 small scars on my legs from where i fell, once while doing a handstand, and once while running around our pool with a baby pram (with no baby in it) which hooked on the corner of the pool as i went around the pool and i fell over the pram. And i have a tiny scar on my hand that i don’t remember where it came from. Exciting, huh??? :P

I have another scar story.
While 20ft up a tree my mom needed trimmed, I tried holding the chainsaw with one hand, while I held a branch. The branch pulled into the saw blade, and my hand went with it. I pulled back as fast as I could, and saw the glove over my thumb was shredded.
I calmly and systematically turned off the chainsaw, lowered it to the ground with a rope, and climbed down the tree.
When I got down, I took off my glove, and looked at my thumb. It was untouched.
I looked again at the shredded glove, to make sure I wasn’t imagining anything, then looked at my thumb again. Glove again, then thumb again. This time I noticed just the slightest amount of skin removed from below the thumbnail. Really, just a little small trimming. I was lucky as could be.
That small scraped scarred, and now I look at it occasionally to remember one of my blessings.

I have a scar right along my eyebrow from being hit in the head with a metal baseball bat on my 8th birthday. My cousins and I were playing baseball and one of them accidentally hit me right above my eye with the bat. It busted my head open to the bone. My parents took me to the hospital, and the ER doctor refused to stitch me up. Instead, we had to wait 6 hours for a plastic surgeon to come in and do it. I spent the whole 6 hours with ice packs on my head to help control the bleeding. The ER doctor didn’t want to do it because he was concerned about messing the alignment of my eyebrow up and causing self-esteem issues when I got older.

Unsolved Mystery The small scar at the top of my forehead…sort of like a small dash, yet deep enough to stick a fingernail into. I’ve asked the family, and no one seems to recall how it came to be.

If I were to tell the true story of most of mine, people would think I was bullshitting them. So I don’t.

I just realized that I should have mentioned that biting off my own lip was an accident.
