What is "redistribution" in the context of cardiac nuclear imaging?

A nuclear stress test is based on the principle that the labeled compound distributes in the heart in a manner proportional to blood flow. If there is ischemia (or lack of blood flow), there should be a lower signal. Redistribution refers to the time dependent movement of the compound into previously unlabeled territory.
