What do you use as a keychain?

Asked by Mtl_zack (6781points) August 10th, 2010

Do you use a fancy one? One from a gift shop on vacation? From a conference or convention or gift bundle? Do you just use a ring, or perhaps you use a carabiner.

I use a carabiner to hold my keys.

Just a ring. I used to have a small woven leather lanyard, which I replaced with an anodized orange bottle opener shaped like a Grateful Dead bear. When I realized I was an adult and shouldn’t be walking around with that, I switched to just the keyring.

I have something like this. I absolutely loathe having things in my pockets that dont need to be there. So having it on my belt loops is good.I like this type of clipping key chains especially because they unclip really effortlessly but never accidentally fall off.

It’s just one of those double-looped metal rings.

My keys are on various random rings chained together.

But I have been happiest in the last couple of years since that whole mess got connected to a lanyard (which came with a thumb drive I bought) so I can just slip them over my head and around my neck.

I never lose them, misplace them, or lock myself out of the car.

Wish I had done this many years ago.

A ring with my father’s dog tags on it (from his time in the navy during Vietnam).

What a nice thoughtful tribute to him and all those willing to give their lives to uphold what they believe in. I really like that. Best answer of the week.

I have them on the snap off of an old dog leash. Then I can clip them to a belt loop and let them hang in my back pocket and I don’t have to worry about losing them.

Mine is from the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association – my daughter volunteered with them last year and brought it back for me. It has a labrador on it. :)
