If you are good with phones, please help.

Asked by youWISHyouknewME_152 (43points) March 23rd, 2008 from iPhone

I really want the t-mobile sidekick 3. Mostly because its amazing and I want to show off :) but in my area I can’t get any national carriers, i.e. AT&T, sprint, t-mobile. So I’m stuck with a local carrier that uses SIM cards. I found a sidekick on the Internet that is “unlocked”. I was wondering if I would be able to put my SIM card into the sidekick and it will work. Or will it go mad and not let me?

if its unlocked then it should let you use a SIM from any carrier.

An unlocked phone means it is not locked to any particular carrier. Most carriers “lock” their phones to keep customers tied to them. If you have an unlocked sidekick, and a SIM from a local carrier, it should work. If the phone has features that are dependent on a T-mobile network, they shouldn’t work, but it might. Best of luck.

I’m not sure about the 3 but on the previous models you couldn’t use Instant messenger (AIM)
Texts voice mail and calls work just fine tho
