How do you make almond milk taste good?
I have just purchased some almond milk and poured myself a glass. When I took a drink, it was disgusting! The carton says it’s unsweetened so I added some sugar and honey and it tastes fine now but I don’t want to always add a bunch of sugar and honey when I pour myself a glass. Is there a way to make almond milk taste better without adding all the sweetener?

Try using it on a high-quality cereal, like Golean, with some fresh blueberries or peaches and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Or use it in coffee or tea to replace milk.

There is also flavored almond milk, I drink Blue Diamond Almond Breeze, it comes in vanilla, chocolate or regular. I prefer the vanilla one than the original since it is already sweet. I don’t drink the other milk so I use it as an alternative.
I’d add alittle vanilla and skip the sugar.I like it in coffee :)
@Tink1113: I picked up the regular. Maybe next time I’ll get the vanilla.
Bailey’s. But, failing that, putting honey in it might actually turn out to be good for you. Not the processed stuff.
It already tastes good! Better than milk with hormones! drink it.
@mrentropy: Haha, that sounds like a delicious cocktail. I may have to try it and then curse your black heart for telling me about it.
@SamuelsJ: If it tasted good, I wouldn’t be asking this question.
It’s probably an acquired taste, just like cow’s milk.
Add a bunch of dates with the almonds when you put it in the blender. A splash of vanilla is also nice. Strain, chill and serve.
Those carnation instant powders may help.

Vanilla, or get used to the taste. Or mix it with coffee!! O.O
@JeanPaulSartre: I don’t drink coffee! And I was afraid you would say that.
I feel your pain. I keep trying other “milks” and have not hit on one I like yet.
Humans are the only species that drink lactation from a species other than their own. It’s good your drinking Almond milk friend.
@Dewey420: I’m not stopping cow’s milk I’m a vegetarian, not a vegan but a friend of mine is a Vegan and there is a good chance that he and I are going to be spending a lot more time together so I decided to try some vegan foods read: foods just odd enough that people whose diets restrict or cut out dairy would eat so that I could serve them when we hang out.
@KatawaGrey The trick is layering it with other flavors. Vanilla is a good start, but don’t stop there. Look in your grocery store or a health food store for the various extracts and just let go and try whatever sounds good.
@Adirondackwannabe: I actually have both vanilla extract and mint extract currently but I’m worried about the cost of extracts. I could buy ten bottles of extracts and it would cost more than two weeks worth of groceries for me. I think I can use the almond milk for blended things like smoothies, though I doubt I’ll be buying it again. I’m a big from-the-carton drinker andif tastes bad straight outta the carton…
@KatawaGrey If you’re concerned about the cost try a bulk food store. We have one nearby run by a Mennonite family. The prices are amazingly low.
I have discovered something delicious!
I put a bunch of almond milk into the blender with some honey, a little vanilla extract, a scoop of chocolate protein powder and one slightly ripe banana and liquefied the lot and voila! Pure yummy in a cup!
