Can you convert protected audio files from windows media player to iTunes?

If you burn the tracks as an audio CD, you can then rip the CD into iTunes. I find it best to do them in album groups, as this way iTunes will automatically download the track listings for you from the Gracenote CDDB. Breaking the track protection otherwise is often very hard and requires the use of questionable utilities to do so.

Emphasis on an audio CD: a data CD or DVD will retain the track protection.
