Where can i learn about what it's like to be a nun?

Asked by jca (36062points) August 12th, 2010

No, i don’t want to become a nun. I sat with some nuns at a party the other night, and i took the opportunity to talk to them about what life is like for them. I found it fascinating, like i would find any other culture or lifestyle fascinating.

Where can i learn more about what it’s like to be a nun?

a nunnery/convent, you can live with them on a probationary period, as a novice without taking full ordination. that’s the best way, when you say nun i assume you mean Christian. Or maybe you could just do a retreat for a few weeks, i’m not sure what all the options are.

A nun is a religious female who lives a contemplative cloistered life of prayer and meditation, while a sister, in Christian denominations, lives an active vocation of prayer and service, often to the needy, sick, poor, and uneducated.
