What would your personalized registration plate read?

Asked by rebbel (35553points) August 14th, 2010

If you would treat yourself to a personalized registration plate, what would you want to have written on it?
Or have you already one, what is on it?
Here in the Netherlands, as far as i know, there is not the possibility to have one, but was i a US citizen, and was i going to get me one, it would read….., let me think…..
I will come back to that, once one of you lets me know of how many letters and/or numbers these plates (may) consists of.

Modern British plates are in the format letter-letter-number-number-letter-letter-letter.

I always fancied having “MU51CAL”. Last time I checked the DVLA database (about 2 weeks ago) it wasn’t in use. If it ever was, it would have been issued in 2001 or early 2002.

Probably a combination of mine & the kids initials with a birthdate thrown in.

Thanks for providing the British format, @downtide.
I guess if i was a Brit i could go for RE88ELS.

@rebbel You could, but you’ll have to wait a long time for it. 88 plates won’t be out until 2038, if they don’t change the system again before then.

I think personalized plates are silly, not to mention a waste of $$. Sorry.

@downtide
Don’t even know if, in 2038 when i will be 71, i am rebellious enough to still want one.

When I lived in Guam, I had my plates personalized to read; HOMESIC. I think now I’d go with; REALLY?

My personalized license plate says 9 OWLS . I have collected owl figures for a long time & my family knows that this is (most likely) an outward manifestation of my inner search for wisdom. One time when I was spending time with my grandsons & I was explaining something to them, the youngest one spoke up & said “You are smarter than 9 owls!” [ I guess the 10 owl would be smarter than me :-) ] So, I decided to put it on my license plate.

In America, you get up to 7 characters for a plate. I’d probably go with AUGSTLN. Yeah, it’s likely that no one would ‘get’ it, but if anyone did… I’d know they were a jelly, and how cool would that be? :p
