Where can kids make free websites?
There was this old website called blinkz.com It was where kids could choose templates, name your website, you could upload pictures, come up with themes, ec cetera, ec cetera. But they canceled it. I was so sad. And I know this sounds a lot like webs.com but blinkz was just for kids. And just so you know I don’t need it to be for kids (but that’s what a would prefer) but please don’t say webs. And please make sure it is free.

As a web designer hobbyist of at least 5 years, I cringe at the thought of these sites, but here are a couple I’ve seen:
Weebly Probably your top choice. A hundred-ish templates a free hosting. Easy content management for the end user.
Google Sites – Pages This would have a difficult setup process for a kid, but once the site is up, content management is easy. Note that a Google account is required.
Please keep in mind that no great websites with good design have ever been made by people who don’t know HTML and other web technologies. But since these are kids, this shouldn’t be a priority.

devhub.com is another site editor that is user friendly.
I used Webs for a while, I think it was about a year ago (Right around turning 13). For a normal kid, who’ll be bored of it after a while, it’s all right. If you think the kid is serious about it, and really will keep it going and make it better, don’t use it. I wanted to make a continuing story, kind of like a blog. I wanted to have a kind of a directory of posts (I figured out a blog would be better for what I specifically wanted), and you can’t do that on Webs. Keep things like that in mind when you’re looking around.
Wordpress.com! It’s both somewhat professional, and so simple a kid could use it.
