Anyone know how you might fill in a crack in a solid surface veneer countertop?

Asked by janbb (63221points) August 20th, 2010

It’s the stuff that looks like Corian but is a veneer of it on plywood rather than turtles all the way down. Ours has a deep crack around 4 inches long. Anyone know how to fix?

Hope this helps.

Nice try and thanks @ChazMaz but since the veneer is not wood but Corian, it’s a little different. I will go into Home Depot and ask if no one here knows; just thought I’d try here first.

Here’s what seems to be the common view: DIY for minor scratches or chips; bring in a pro for deep cracks.

Thanks Gail – this is a little different because it is a veneer of Corian. I think I will contact he manufacturer and see what they suggest, but thanks for the link.

Sorry, I missed that. My sister has solid Corian. I have trouble imagining a Corian veneer laminated to wood.

You can resurface laminate countertops.

Thank you @BarnacleBill; will check out that link.

What is throwing me off is, I did not know Corian can be made into a veneer.

It’s the Wilsonart product mentioned in BarnacleBill’s link. We got it from Home Depot about 10 years ago. Price is more than Formica but cheaper than Corian or granite.
