Do you have a favorite love song?
I’m not much of the romantic type, but La Vie En Rose turns me into a little puddle.
Is there a love song that gets you every time?

Just like heaven by the Cure
It’s so sweet.
At Last by Etta James
My fiancé and and I are both in our mid-40s, and this will be a first marriage for both of us, so it has special meaning.
@TheOnlyNeffie Tell me that you are still married, and I’ll consider that a good omen. :)
@TheOnlyNeffie Which version of La vie en rose is your favourite? I adore the original by Edith Piaf but can’t help breaking into a grin when Louis Armstrong sings.
Something by the Beatles. Any George song puts me in a good mood, but this song is simply perfection.
@muppetish I literally just said that somewhere else. Edith Piaf’s version takes the cake for me.. it gives me goosebumps. But Louis Armstrong brings something completely new to it, definitely a close close second.
Maybe because I am listening to her right now,but I will have to go with this
”I’d Just Love to Lay You Down” by Conway Twitty. When my husband and I were dating, he stood behind me, wrapped his arms around me, and sang this softly in my ear. It’s been our song (and my favorite) since then.
CRUISIN by smokey robinson
Frank Zappa said it best “There are more love songs than anything else. If songs could make you do something we’d all love one another.”
Oh! yeah I do XD. Either Love song by the cure and 311 or a clean shot by the myriad
There Is No Greater Love. I have the Billie Holiday version, but I actually like Amy Winehouse’s better. I want it to be my wedding song.
My Funny Valentine as performed by Frank Sinatra is a close second. Such a sweet, cute message :)
“When You Wish Upon a Star” oops sorry not a love song…is it?
“Wonderful Tonight” by Eric Clapton
@Frenchfry Take a look below the dialogue box, there are simple instructions on how to post links.
@Frenchfry Just take the space out from between the first set of quotes and the letter “a” in awesome and the one after the colon, then you’ll have it.
A few…couldn’t pick one…..
Tiny Dancer by Elton John (sentimental reasons)
In My Life by Beatles (ditto)
And when I was thinking about what songs to answer this…a song came on the television that I had not heard in years….and it absolutely took me back and evoked this deep melancholia and remembrance…quite surprised by my reaction. It was a song that I used to listen to when I was in school: For Emily, Whenever I May Find Her by Simon and Garfunkel.
They have another song that I also find haunting….simple and with few lyrics the song Bookends:
Time it was, and what a time it was, it was
A time of innocence, a time of confidences
Long ago, it must be, I have a photograph
Preserve your memories, they’re all that’s left you
It is amazing how a song can capture a memory, a moment in time….they can be like musical time capsules.
Stay with me baby (from The Rose)
Somebody to Love – Queen
Mellow – Elton John
Probably lots more. I’m tired and can’t think right now.
I’m with you on La Vie En Rose or Rien de Rien.
The one that really gets me is Love You Til the End, by The Pogues. So honest and sweet.
i think probably lyrically and for shear unbearably, spine-tingly, ethereal loveliness…. the first time and this, both folk songs.
Simple Twist of Fate by Bob Dylan.
I’m a big time romantic, so I have a lot of love songs I…well…love. C:
But I have two all time favorites. One of them is Music of My Heart by Gloria Estefan and NSYNC. Its me and my boyfriend’s song. He even surprised me by requesting it at prom! :3
Here’s the link if you want to check it out:

The other one is called Groovy Kind of Love. There are a couple different versions, but my favorite one is done by the a cappella men’s group, The King’s Singers. It makes me think of my relationship with my boyfriend. Its sweet and easygoing, and I think of my boyfriend every time I hear it.
And if you’d like to hear it, here’s the link for that one too! :3

I have a lot of other love songs that I love to listen to (I’m a disney nerd and I listen to the classic songs, which include a whole bunch of love songs. I think its safe to say that disney is responsible for my romantic nature), but those are my all time favorites. C:
‘I Caught Fire’ and ‘Smother Me’ by The Used
