My friend and I are turning 60 and going to Vegas to celebrate! We’re on limited funds. We’re not into gambling. We’re into fun!

Happy birthday! Check out the Bellagio fountain, which starts up sometime after 3 p.m. Go to the Pinball Hall of Fame which is off the strip on Tropicana across the street from the Liberace Museum. They have 150 machines including ones from the 50s to the 00s. Get your Rita Rudner tickets at one of the Tix 4 Tonight Booths which sell discounted tickets on the day of the show. Go see the lions in the MGM casino. Go see the Chihuly glass and flowers inside Bellagio. Go to any of the shopping malls and window shop. People watch. Watch pilot television shows and give your opinions at the CBS(?) television place—never been, but it’s free. Get a $2 daiquiri at Slots of Fun outside Circus Circus.
There’s also cheap stuff in downtown LV, like the old $.99 shrimp cocktail, but downtown is also a little sketchy. I wouldn’t say dangerous, just not as glam. There’s a free gigantic light show there in the evenings.
Ellis Island near/in NYNY is supposed to have a cheap breakfast, and the McD’s inside the MGM has dollar breakfast items.
