Yes and no. Chemically, they are diamonds, but because they were created in a lab by humans instead of in a hill by natural pressure, they’re less rare, and thus considered less less valuable and impressive (although it also means that the gem doesn’t have the imperfections of a “real” diamond nor any of the bloodshed in mining it).
