How do you remedy a lose lose situation?
What do you do to prepare if you’re going into a situation that your almost certain you’ll lose? I don’t know, it’s really hard asking a good question. I think what I’m asking is how do people prepare themselves to put their life on the line on a regular basis, like, firefighters.

I guess job satisfaction that & the rewards their job brings, both financially relatively speaking & mentally. They know that their in the life saving business. It’s a dirty job but someone’s gotta do it right?
I don’t know about anyone else but I prepare, train, practice and rehearse. I have rarely had to put my life on the line but even as a life guard when other peoples lives were in my hands I was well trained and knew my stuff.
In business, I am faced with lose lose situations on a weekly basis and in order to create a win win or at the very least win/lose situation you have to see something that is not always obvious. That magic twist that provides the win/win or again offers a palatable solution to the problem.
As with any life in danger situation you always have to look out for your own life or hide and be prepared to back off to save your own skin from danger and in business you just need to know your limits and walk away from the situation if need be.
I don’t do it for a living, but I don’t have any problem with stepping into risky situations. First thing is to look at everything going on and picking up the risk points. Then don’t do anything to make the situation worse. And what the heck do musicians do in the details?
I’ve been in that situation several times. Do everything you can to train yourself to do your job to the very best of your ability. Make 100% certain that all equipment you are using is the best available and is in excellent condition. If you will be working with a group, make sure the same is true for them. Plan-rehearse until you have recurring dreams about your assignment. Beyond that about the best you can do is eat a hearty meal, get as much rest as possible, and pray.
