1. ”-At our school we have a goal to boost school spirit. Describe a fun activity you would like to see.”
People are still essentially tribal, so anything “tribal” should help. Bonfires, communal dancing, etc.

2. ”-Why are honesty and integrity important in your life and in Leadership?”
Because without them an organization tends to fall apart, and trust ( without which an organization cannot function ) disappears.

3.”-Reliability and responsibility are key qualities to being a successful Leadership student. Explain why you think they are important.”
If people cannot rely on you to be worthy of trust ( which is what those two things are all about ) they will not support your efforts.

4. ”-Being in Leadership means making our school a better place to learn and to have fun. how would you improve the learning environment at our school?”
More self-directed learning.

5. ”-Why is being a cooperative team player an important part of being in a leadership class?”
One of the primary functions of a leader is to make best possible use of available resources, including the synergy of cooperative effort.

NOTE: Make sure you understand the terms I used before you submit a paper with them in it!

This is your shot at getting done what you are capable of doing or at the very least what you might be capable in the future given a chance or two.

Start off by being the best you know how and that starts with communicating your ideas clearly and with good grammar and spelling. Next think these questions over as many times as it takes and think of what you feel and know is what a leader would do to motivate you in these situations and apply that to these questions. You will never be a leader like some other famous leader you idolize or respect, you have to become the leader you can be by doing what you know you are capable of doing.

It’s important that you answer the questions! It’s not team jot down what people tell me on the internet if’s team Leader! If you wanna be a leader, lead- if you’re braindead now, take a break and revisit it later. Ditto @Cruiser

Yeah, the whole point of leadership is to take the initiative and lead others, not to solicit and follow suggestions.

@Trillian I just gave you a GA, but the more I think about it, I’m not so sure. Great leaders have a vision, but if they want to accomplish it, they need to get the perspective and buy-in of those that are going to be carrying out the plan. I worked for an executive who proposed a change, and after listening to the collective banter about why it wouldn’t work and what it would take to make it work, finally got fed up and said, “Just do it” and walked out. It wasn’t very inspirational.

With that said, I agree with everyone who points out that these questions are designed to be answered based upon your own opinion and should not be solicited and used from others.

@Pied_Pfeffer A good leader willlisten to input of his people of ther is time and it is appropriate but the ultimate decision is u to the leader.
I’m all abut the buy-in, I’m a TQM facilitatorand Process improvement is my pssion.
Your executive handled that badly The banter however, is also inappropriate. The thing to do would be to have a meeting and before the meeting tell people about the proposed change. This gives people time to think about it and write down their ideas.
Lord knows, the people who preform the process are the best ones to tell you how it works, and what would make it easier. So they needed to tell him not only why is wouldn’t work in that way, but what would work. Of course, he needed to afford them that opportunity. That’s leadership.
You’re talking about two different things, and his integrity as a leader is being tested here. The OP needs to be able to answer those questions at the top himelf or he is no kind of a leader at all. If, for instance, he does not know why reliability and responsibility are important, what have you accomplished him by spelling it out for him?
And if he knows the basics, then he can get into the training that will teach him other leadership skills, like deckplate management, and getting the word from the people who perform the task the best way to improve how the task is done. If he can’t even answer those simple questions on his own, why should the instructors waste their time on him?
