If you eat a healthy balanced diet you should not need any iron supplements.
Yes, Salmon! Mmmm
I get iron from beans, lentils and pumpkin seeds and I take the Floradix iron supplement.
Egg yolks
Dried fruit (prunes, raisins)
Mollusks (oysters, clams, scallops)
Turkey or chicken giblets
Beans, lentils, chick peas and soybeans
Artichokes
Also, if you eat iron-rich foods along with foods that provide plenty of vitamin C, your body can better absorb the iron.
Do you have anemia or you trying to add more iron into your daily diet?
This website lists foods that have high and good-enough sources of iron. If you are iron-deficient, however, you need to take a supplement.
@muppetish My doctor said I needed to eat more things with Iron in them because I don’t have enough.
Don’t believe that if you eat right you will not be dificient in iron, many women still are. The way to know is to get a blood test.
Non heme iron is found in Spinach and other green leafy vegetable. Heme iron is in meats. The link given above didn’t open for me, but I am sure it must have a good list, or you can google food with iron and I am sure a bunch of websites pop up.
The best supplement in my opinion is Slowfe.
@Mom2BDec2010 Slowfe, I take two a day when my iron gets low. You buy it over the counter in the drug store. Every doctor I know is familiar with the brand.
