The crisp Fall air, walking on crunchy leaves, crunchy Macs in season, that smell; or a Springtime breeze, being able to remove the many layers of Winter clothing, birds singing, flowers blooming; which season do you prefer?

Fall is where it’s at, folks. I dig, I dig, I dig it.

I live in New England, what’s not to love about Fall? well, maybe November, leaves are gone, rain is cold…

marinelife's avatar

I really love the fall. That said, there is nothing like spring after a long winter.

mrentropy's avatar

I do prefer Autumn over the others. It’s just my thing.

zen_'s avatar

If only it were always Spring.

NaturallyMe's avatar

Autumn i suppose, purely because spring time may be too hot for my liking. And also, i like cozy winter wear.

<—Winter kid. I like 10 degree weather with snowmen, snowball fights, warm sweaters, hot coffee, and snuggling for warmth. Come on, seasons, speed up already!

Cruiser's avatar

I love them all for all the reasons you presented! You can’t make me choose!

mrentropy's avatar

During the Fall I can wear my long brown coat.

Fall…

Specifically, Halloween!

JilltheTooth's avatar

@mrentropy : Pic please on September 22! ;-)

mrentropy's avatar

@JilltheTooth I will certainly forget before then, so make sure you remind me.

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

I like them all very much :)

@mrentropy : I have virtually no reliable short-term memory. I’ll have to write it on my calendar, then learn how link back to this question. Busy coupla weeks, ahead, I guess!

I’d take either one, if one were on offer.

We don’t have Spring or Autumn in Florida. We just have the three major seasons: hot, hot and wet, and a couple of weeks of chilly.

Autumn is my favorite. In northern Michigan the sky turns a particular shade of blue that one only sees in October. It’s best when viewed through denuded tree branches. One can break out the sweaters and wear them every day!
(I have got to get back to the north country)

October is my birthday month, so I’ve always favored the autumn months. After living in cities where summer seems to last forever, I find myself counting the days to my birthday starting in June!

As far as San Diego weather goes, I love love love winter.
I think winter in most parts of America/the world would be a bit too extreme for me, so in general, I’ll go with Spring.
One thing’s for sure, I’m not a fan of summer.

I love love LOVE Autumn! There’s just this aroma in the air when it’s Fall time and it makes my soul dance. Fall and Winter are my most favorite times of the year. Don’t get me wrong though, Spring is okay, just because it isn’t too hot yet and there’s a freshness in the air. But Autumn is still my tip top on the list. <3

Fall/Autumn

Football, sweatshirts, colorful leaves, Halloween, and my birthday.

stardust's avatar

Autumn is probably my favourite season. It’s the colourful leaves – I love them. Having said that, there’s something great to be found in all four.

I enjoy all the seasons, except, like everyone, by the end of summer I am ready for cool weather, and by the end of winter I am ready for spring weather!

I live in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. All the seasons are nice.

Summer when I can swim in the deliciously cold river near my house, or sit in my cold hot tub on awesome nights and star gaze.
Fall when the leaves start to drop and the local mountain orchards and farm trails offer up a bounty of apples and cider and pies and baked goods.

Winter when it is cold and stormy and sometimes snowy, watching the wild wind blow through the trees and cozy soup making days and hot tubs at night.

I appriciate all 4 seasons and what they have to offer. :-)

Autumn. It’s where it’s at. ::crunches on freshly picked apple::

I love fall. The weather to me is perfect. I do miss see the leaves change. I don’t get much of that in Florida.

downtide's avatar

I actually prefer Summer. It’s the only season of the year where the weather doesn’t depress me and even then we only get summery weather a few weeks a year. Choosing only between Spring and Fall, I prefer Spring, because at least I can hope that s half-decent summer might be on its way. Fall just means winter is coming. brrr

stranger_in_a_strange_land's avatar

I love the colors, smells and tastes of autumn. I prefer the activities of winter; ski touring, biathlons and snuggling by the fireplace.

muppetish's avatar

I love the concept of autumn. Unfortunately, we don’t experience real autumn where I live (not even with the trees.) I’m still clinging to my love for winter.

wilma's avatar

I love different things about all the seasons. Probably I like Spring the best, with it’s promise of summer.
I wish Winter was only half as long as it is where I live.

harple's avatar

Autumn is wonderful – time to get out the opaque tights, denim skirt, long sleeved woolly tops and knee high boots! Yay!

aprilsimnel's avatar

‘Zactly! I love my autumn get-ups!

I’m at my best from the end of September through December. then I grit my teeth from January 1st through mid-February, come to life during the rainy season, perk up in spring. Early May, the heat starts, and I retreat into the air conditioning, not to emerge again until late September.

zannajune's avatar

Autumn. I love the leaves falling and the taste of pumpkin lattes. The temperature is just right before you freeze your butt off in the winter. There’s something so cozy about it.

answerjill's avatar

Autumn is my favorite. I was so annoyed when the lady on the radio told us how “terrific” it was that the weather this weekend would be hot. I’m not a big fan of summer. Song recommendation: Cheryl Wheeler’s “When Fall Comes to New England.”

Seaofclouds's avatar

I’m a winter girl. I love the colder weather, the cuddling to keep warm, and most of all, the snow! I ski, snow board, build forts with my son, and have snow ball fights. To me, there’s nothing like being outside, having an intense snow ball fight, and then coming in and curling up with my husband and nice glass of hot chocolate.

umm..look forward to that first front coming through and cooling everything off..hearing the band playing, as the local high school is only about a mile from my house. they will be outside practicing for football season….cannot wait.

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

I love the summer! I don’t mind the heat and I love the long daylight.

SundayKittens's avatar

@bobo I love that, too. One of my favorite parts of teaching high school is hearing them across the hall or in the field.

When Fall is not preempted by an early winter, it is the most delightful season of all. The weather is cool but not cold. It is an economical time to travel. The Fall foliage is a delight. The lighting is excellent for landscape photography. I love it!

OpryLeigh's avatar

I agree with you @jjmah except we call it Autumn

BoBo1946's avatar

@SundayKittens yes, stirs up the goose bumps.

after a long winter, love the smell of fresh cut grass also.

stranger_in_a_strange_land's avatar

Some of the early maples are coloring now. In the early morning we get a touch of crispness in the air. Soon will be the most beautiful time of the year, natures fireworks in the trees.

MissAnthrope's avatar

Autumn.. I love the cool down after the heat of summer, the air feels and smells delicious, people are having fires and there’s woodsmoke in the air, and the approach of THE BEST HOLIDAY OF ALL! There’s also something beautifully melancholy about everything dying and the world settling in for winter.

Spring is pretty awesome, too, but not quite as awesome. Everything newly green, shedding the winter clothing layers, life springing up around everywhere. It feels good to have the warm sun on your skin after months of being covered up.

ps – here are the lyrics to Wheeler’s “When Fall Comes to New England”:

When Fall Comes To New England
Words And Music By:
Cheryl Wheeler

When fall comes to New England
The sun slants in so fine
And the air’s so clear
You can almost hear the grapes grow on the vine

The nights are sharp with starlight
And the days are cool and clean
And in the blue sky overhead
The northern geese fly south instead
And leaves are Irish Setter red
When fall comes to New England

When fall comes to New England
And the wind blows off the sea
Swallows fly in a perfect sky
And the world was meant to be

When the acorns line the walkways
Then winter can’t be far
From yellow leaves a blue jay calls
Grandmothers Walk Out In Their Shawl
And Chipmunks Run The Old Stone Walls
When fall comes to New England

The frost is on the pumpkin
The squash is off the vine
And winter warnings race across the sky
The squirrels are on to something
And they’re working overtime
The foxes blink and stare and so do I

‘Cause when fall comes to New England
Oh I can’t turn away
From fading light on flying wings
And late good-byes a robin sings
And then another thousand things
When fall comes to New England

When fall comes to New England
