I need help getting internet on my psp?

I followed the steps I found online to get the internet on my psp…but I get the error message, “connection error has occurred. the attempt to obtain the IP address timed out.”

I’m in my home and I have a router. I set up a new connection and it found my own connection when I hit “scan.”

I can’t get on the internet, no matter what I do. I don’t manually put in the ip address. All settings are correct.

Can anyone help me please? Youtube videos are of no help.
