Does your heart sometimes go off at strange rythyms now and again? Does it seem to beat, skip a beat and then go on? Have you had it checked and what were you advised to do?

Yes and I was told mine is a heart murmer that they are keeping a watch on. She told me it wasn’t anything to worry about really. But that is not to say that is your problem. I think if the symptoms you describe are yours, you should go and get a diagnosis from your doctor.
Constantly- when I was dealing with my daughter. Never- now that I’ve stopped. It makes me suspicious that she is bad for my cardiovascular health. no kidding
My heart just skipped a beat trading messages with @harple—but a better example of when this happens to me is when I get really angry (not often, thank goodness) or when I hear a really bad piece if news (again, not often). I remember once being told something by a doctor about my heart that scared a few beats out of me, but everything turned out all right.
@Austinlad oh goodness, I hope I didn’t make you angry! ;-)
Yes. In the long ago past, I had a heart murmur, but it went away (how does that even happen?). Then, when I first started getting panic attacks my heart would jump around like crazy. I was convinced I was dying. (I wasn’t.) Got the panic attacks under control, and that stopped. Now, I’ve got some jumping/skipping/weird beats going on again. Getting a bunch of blood tests tomorrow, and depending on what shows up there, may have to get an EKG.
I hope yours is nothing serious, but it’s best to get it checked out.
@augustlan I hope you get reassuring news as a result of your medical assessments.
I am pleased to report that I still have wonderful occasions which cause my heart to race and my breathing to quicken.
My heart will skip beats every few. When I exercise, it is fine. While recovering from exercise, it gets much worse. The doctors spent a lot of time trying to figure out why my heart does what it does.
A friend suggested the answer. A large part of the problem is caffine poisoning. I was drinking a lot of iced tea, and hot tea in those days.
I used to get heart beats a lot but now I don’t get any at all.
