Lighter brown with very subtle highlights.
I like black. My hair is.
It the colour in that picture your natural colour? If not, what is your natural colour?
I agree with @hawaii_jake ‘s suggestion. Are you considering a change in hair style as well?
I agree with the advice of colouring your hair light brown. (: Is that a cello? Awesome!
@Dr_Lawrence No, my natural color is at the roots, very dark cool-toned brown.
@cyndihugs Yep, that’s a cello. Thanks :D
Your eyes are a light, rich brown, so you should get something to complement them. I agree with the light brown crowd. Like the color of cinnamon, with a few caramel highlights?
I really like the colour. I would get good stylist to take a whack. Something new and a little more fresh might do a bit more good. And you won’t have to deal with roots.
Thanks, I like the light brown w/ subtle highlights idea. :D
gasp
I wish you wouldn’t. You have beautiful hair. Maybe just a few caramel highlights? Your hair looks very healthy, particularly for being so curly.. I wouldn’t mess with a good thing. But maybe that’s just me. :)
I can see that!!
I do mean it, I wish you wouldn’t do much with it. But I understand what it’s like to get bored with your own hair sometimes. If the color you have now isn’t too much different from your natural, I would just ask them to highlight right over everything.
If there is a noticeable line of regrowth – ask for a demi permanent (it doesn’t lift, so it’s not destructive) close to the color you have now and then highlights over that.
COTTON CANDY !!!!!!!!!!!!!
@TheOnlyNeffie thanks, I’ve never tried demi-permanent and I have a lot of brassy tones from having my hair previously red (Like really natural red).
@lilikoi I am not that brave. :]
@amazingme if you do decide to go with demi-perm, it will help to tone out the brass that you don’t like. Just mention it to your hairdresser, she’ll know what to do.
The nice thing about demi permanent is the way that it develops looks so different from a permanent color. Someone once explained it to me like this : If you have a piece of natural wood and you paint it, all of the grains and underlying tones disappear under the paint. That is like permanent hair color. However, if you varnish the wood, you still have the natural tones and grains shining through, only with a new glaze of color over top. That is like demi-perm.
Anyhow, I hope you don’t feel like I’m pressuring you. It is your hair to do with as you choose, by all means. Just throwing my 2 cents into the mix. :)
@TheOnlyNeffie No, no pressure. I actually think I am going for the demi-permanent, now. Thanks:D But I still might go for lighter. And if I don’t like it all that much, hey I can always dye it back, right? :D
@Haleth I feel like that’s exactly what she has now, no?
This may be OT, I’m not sure… but Zooey’s hair in that photo appears to be two different colors. Her bangs are quite dark, almost black. Her curls are more of the chocolate brown that you’re describing. (I think.)
you have such nice hair. at least it seems that way to me
I don’t think you need to color it:/
What a beauty, hair and all! If you must dye it, I do like the caramel highlights idea.
I love your color but I understand wanting a change. When I was in high school, my hair was dark like yours. I wanted a change so I got blonde highlights. It looked awful! I should have listened to my mother who told me I should get redish highlights or just dye my hair a dark brown. I think red/burgundy or darkish brown would look great!
