Are my Questions confusing, thought-provoking or just downright nonsense (See details)

Asked by actuallery (617points) August 30th, 2010

Is it actually an actual actuality to actually act actively?
Added Details – Can a person be seen as acting actively and yet, in actuality, be lost in a day dream?

Is it sought to be taught by any sort if fought or caught in any port or fort or is it all for nought?
Added Details – Do you find that when you fight for something you deem worthwhile, it ends up being a worthless pursuit?

Don’t the added details give more information that just the questions, themselves?

I usually find it helpful to have the question in the “question” part and then add details in the “details” part. If the two don’t match then I stop reading.

If I saw that as a question I would never open it.

~ Are you related to Dr. Seuss? :)

honestly though- it seems more like you are more interested in showing clever wordplay than asking an actual question.

For me it is too convoluted to bother with but I am sure others might like it.

At first your questions caught me off guard but when I did read the added details I was able to see the method to the madness and have enjoyed contemplating them and answering a few.

I would be stuck at the upper case Q and D in questions and details? What do they inform?

I also stop short at a question that begins “Don’t…” That always implies that the questioner wants you to agree with him.

“Do the added details give more information than the question itselft?” is a more neutral form.

Downright nonsense (not that that is a bad thing, mind you)

It’s a matter of taste, and context.
If it was me, and this was your way of having conversation, I’d probably wanna punch you for being so annoying. I prefer when people talk directly, “just ask what you want to know and don’t be so peppery about it”. Other people, such as @Cruiser can find it amusing and thought-provoking.
On the other hand, if it was the headline of an article, or in a poem by e.a.poe, I would probably enjoy it..

Is it actually an actual actuality to actually act actively? That’s the question? The thought it would provoke in me would be WTF? There’s nothing at all wrong with a little poetry and a little musicality in your style, but that shouldn’t trump clarity and precision.

@Cruiser – Unfortunately, according to the Rules & Guidelines, I am unable to ask such Questions in this forum as they are seen to be unseemly and without proper theme even though some do deem them to be adequate. In saying this, I would also like to add that if it can be done, would it, could it, should it?

@actuallery If you are trying to point out that the mods opinions count and regular users’ don’t, then you are trodding a well-worn trail. In fact, it’s worn so deep, you can’t see over the edge.

The mods decide what is worthy and what isn’t. They say they follow guidelines, and I have to believe their interpretations are honest, no matter how ill-advised they may be. They have the power. This is their website. Complaining will get you nowhere. Believe me. I been there and done that 100 times over. I got the blood pressure meds to prove it.

nevermind

As you have stated in your other question as to why that question was modded, you think that people are not intelligent enough to answer the question. I just found it boring.

YARNLADY's avatar

Actually – it depends.

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

None of the above – they’re simply an example of someone trying too hard.

Cruiser's avatar

@actuallery You need to sometimes reach for the Queensbury rules….much more results oriented. ;)

actuallery's avatar

@Cruiser – I tried that and now they have removed the “sought” Question and won’t give it back to me to edit.

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

@actuallery Why don’t I save you some time: people on fluther really hate questions like these where people whine about the mods…really.

AmWiser's avatar

I find the question more geared toward word play which I rather dwell on in my leisure time that I set aside for games of sort. Yes, I admit I need time to figure out some games.

Cruiser's avatar

@actuallery Have you tried stomping your feet? That sometimes works depending on the mod who is on duty!

YARNLADY's avatar

@Cruiser That never worked for me – I had to smack my keyboard a few times, and slam the lid on my lap top

Marva's avatar

@actuallery I think Fluther mods have removed your questions because this might not be the place suitable for them. Here is a place for questions and answers, this type of neck riddles does not necessarily belong HERE.

However, you are obviously showing a liking, and a talent for this style of thought provoking questions, I am sure that there are other websites far more suitable for you to use this talent. I am sure if you made a poem, or a short article of it, you would be able to find many websites where they would belong and be welcomed, where people are looking for just that which you have to give

@actuallery has left the submarine. We are now talking amongst ourselves only, which is always fine.
