My guess is Carla Bruni-Sarkozy. just a guess though
People like Audrey Tautou a lot.
Probably Audrey Tatou. Amelie was probably the most mainstream French film that’s been shown here in decades.
The band Phoenix has become quite popular over here. Marianne Cotillard is also very popular.
Name-wise, Sarkozy (yes, he’s not actually French, I know) gets a lot of traffic.
I would have to say Bridget Bardot was the most popular thing to come out of
France since Congac.
André the Giant or Daft Punk would be my guess.
Jean Reno, Audrey Tatou, Asterix, Jacque Cousteau.
I think @jonsblond got the ringer on this one. EVERY American child knows Pepé Le Pew!
It’s a toss up between Pierre Cardin and Christian Dior
Juliette Binoche.
<—(jjmah is a French girl and I love, love saying the name Gérard Depardieu (rolling of the “r’s”))
Marion Cotillard is also very popular.
@uberbatman Agreed!
Historically speaking I would think both Joan of Arc and Napoleon are at the top of the list.
My personal favorite living Frenchman is David Belle.
Philippe de Rothschild (1902–1988), wine maker. He’s dead now, but you can still enjoy his life’s work.
Nobody mentioned Marquis de Lafayette?
