What action scene from a movie sticks in your brain?
You know, that one scene or line from a movie, that will always be in your mind. One you will never forget. Sometimes, actions speak louder than words and this is true. Like, a particular car chase, bus chase or certain words said in a movie that you will never forget. Question: What movie action scene or line haunts your brain and is stuck there for immortality?

Live & Let Die boat chase;
The sheriff is proud of his brother in-law. “Billy Bob”. Who happens to have a very fast Jet Drive boat. These are southern white boys.
Well, Billy Bob was jumped by one of MR. Bigs men.
“if one side of the family don’t get him. The other side will.”
I’m thinking a vague scene from the Last Samurai – on the battle field. Right before the machine guns mow down the samurai. And think about the old vs new style of fighting. The honor in risking your own life up close while seeking to take one. Well, others might call it stupidity – but still.
One of my favourite movies of all time is Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.
Both the prison break scene, and the whole end-scene in the movie (the attempted marriage/rape of Maid Marian, and the ensuing swordfight) are high on my list.
Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark – just about all of it!
Ooh, @janbb you just reminded me!
When I was a little kid, I saw Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom – and I still occasionally see the beating-heart-ripping-out scene in dreams. I think you could call that “imprinted”.
Squeal like a pig!!
HS Deliverance was full of insane scenes like “You got a real pretty mouth ain’t you”? and when Burt Reynolds fractures his leg Eeeewww oooooh!! X0
In The Man Who Would Be King when Caine and Connery are being chased by the angry natives, and in Freaks when the misshapen little carnival people, out to avenge the suicide of one of their own, crawl under the wagons in the rain toward the wagon of the woman who caused his death. Creepy!
The first thing that came to mind was Neo doing the limbo to a bunch of bullets in The Matrix.
Then the second one was the epic battle scene from The Lord of The Rings.
Bullitt – - – - the Mustang chase and jump.
Another one!
(these are all movies I saw when I was really young… but they are stuck in my brain!)
Beastmaster – the guys that wrapped people up and turned them into blobs of bony green Jell-o.
Mongo’s parking violation in “Blazing Saddles”. (NSFW for horse lovers)
@Autstinlad The Man Who Would be King is such a terrific movie!
@Tropical_Willie That was going to be my second choice! That chase scene is brilliant! Great cars too!
mr and Mrs Smith ; when they fight the heck out of each other
The Transporter had many great fighting scenes.
Almost forgot: Bourne Ultimatum, the Tangiers sequence: What starts off with a car explosion soon turns into a motorcycle chase then onto a rooftop then a close quarters battle in an apartment (Bourne beating the crap out of the guy with a book).
Karate Kid…The Swan maneuver, and when Pat Morito kicks the sh** out of the dude in the parking lot at the end of the movie.
And Billy jack, “I’m gonna plant my left foot on the right side of your face…and you’re not gonna be able to do one thing to stop me!”
And Platoon, when charlie Sheen blows away his sergeant..
And Kirk and Spock fighting to the death over Spock’s intended…
@Seek_Kolinahr I remember that one! The green jelly gave me nightmares when I was a kid.
One scene that sticks in my brain is the climax from Star Wars Episode 4 “A New Hope.” Luke is barrelling down the trench and ‘ol badass Darth is chasing him. Vader locks on to Luke’s X-wing and suddenly goes flying into space. A very young and adorable Harrison Ford screams, “YAHOO! You’re all clear, kid! Now blow this thing so we can all go home.”
Lee Marvin – The Comancheros (1961) – Marvin turning a whisky bottle over and knocking the cork out by hitting the bottom of the bottle, and John Wayne’s look.
Klaus Kinski – Aguirre: The Wrath of God (1972) – monkey sequence at very end
Das Boot (1981) – Charging Gibraltar, sea spray across the face as they face doom.
James Earl Jones – Conan The Barbarian (1982) – the head chop of the mother, but it’s all about the cutaways to the calm, knowing, fearless henchmen.
Master of the Flying Guillotine (1975) – I don’t even need to say the scene.
Critics’ Choice
Ben Hur – chariot race
Duck Soup – Mirror scene, Chico mirroring Groucho
Zoro – tongue jump
The General – train
Top Hat (I think) – scene with Ginger Rodgers and Fred Astaire dancing in black tails
I bet I’ll have one to post tomorrow (going to see Inception tonight).
Pay attention, is all I have to say! :)
@ipso That’s what I’ve heard.
Inception: The hallway fight in the hotel, tops all action scenes I have ever witnessed in a movie, ever!
