Why are people against it?

Did you ask why they’re against it? If they can’t supply specific reasons, then don’t worry about it. And remember that you’ll only get out of this experience what you put into it. Do your best and you’ll finish with skills that will last you a lifetime.

My only experience with Job Corps was, unfortunately, negative. I spent a Saturday doing some volunteer work with about a dozen other people. We didn’t have to be there, and we certainly weren’t paid for our labor, but we did it as means of helping the community. There were also two Job Corps women there, who quite frankly, sat around most of the day and didn’t really do much. And while the rest of us were rewarded with a cold can of fruit juice, they were actually paid. So now my impression of Job Corps is it’s for people too lazy to get a real job.

@syz they think i might go there and fall into the same things i use to because of the others there.
they’ve given me examples of people that have gon there and gotten pregnant . ive heard many bad storys about the place they say the kids there are wild(im in Michigan by the way) i will be attending the flint center.

@rts486 ive told myself that same thing numerous amounts of time. im just a little skeptical because going here can make or break me. it could either make life harder or easier for me idk if im willing to take that chance.

Job Corp will not make or break you. You are a unique ans wonderful individual and you make your own breaks.
If you don’t want to get pregnant, don’t let the boys in.
