Is Amazon Prime worth it to you?
Is it worth it to you to pay 80 bucks a year for free 2-day shipping from Amazon?

It depends on how often you order things from them.
To me, it is not.
It’s so easy to wait until I have a $25 order, and most free-shipping orders go out so fast anyway, that I never pay shipping to Amazon and always get things very quickly.
I keep a little “anytime” list of items under “save for later” that I can add to an order when it’s too small to make the $25 minimum.
The only time this proved useful for me was when I was ordering a lot of gifts via Amazon. (I am a major procrastinator, so the two day shipping saved my butt many times.) I don’t order very often anymore, so I gave it up years ago.
For us, yes. All of my family and friends live out of state, so we order gifts from Amazon and get the free shipping no matter how much the total is. We also use it often for the kids’ birthdays, because there isn’t a toy store near us. Our only option, unless we want to drive more than an hour, is Wal-Mart, and I’m not thrilled with the toy selection they offer.
My husband uses Amazon for reference books and art books. I don’t order much from them for myself anymore, now that I’ve found an online book swapping site that I love.
No, not for me. I’m like @Jeruba, I usually just wait until I have an order totalling $25 or more. I’ve taken advantage of the free 3-month trials that they’ve offered me a few times, and I’m currently using Prime because they were offering it free for a year for students. It’s really nice to have when it’s free, but no, I wouldn’t pay $80 a year for it.
it has certainly been worthwhile for me over the years. My shopping on amazon has been about 50% CDs, 35% books, and 15% other. Since CDs run in the $10 -$15 range, not having to pay for shipping means I can order one CD at a time.
