How good of a driver are you?

Recently I have had to take an online drivers course because I was inattentive of my speed driving through a neighborhood. Boy was I angry about that ticket. Anyhow, I am able to get it scrubbed from my record for completing a drivers course on line.
Needless to say in 25 years of driving, I thought myself an excellent driver for always being cautious. After reading through the material on line, I have discovered new laws and things I did not know.
There is a whole section on what to do for different car emergencies that I had never considered.
And how to handle or observe for signs of an aggressive driver.
Having moved up north for instance, I never knew it was wise to keep your tank half full.
Or how to visually tell if your tire is over inflated or underinflated.
There is a lot more that is covered that I was unaware of simply because I have not had the occassion to experience it. Doesn’t mean that I never will.
This course has certainly open my eyes about a lot of things, that as a driver I feel I should’ve known all along. It certainly has helped increase my confidence and knowledge and is a blessing.
Upon review, I would have to say I was average and lucky.
So do you feel you need refresher course?
How long have you been driving?

Good enough…for me.my passengers, not so much I have been driving for a while now.My first vehicle was a horseless carriage XD
Hit the fairways mostly, sometimes in the right order. The occasional bonce may take the odd glancing blow, but hey, they shoulda moved…........Oh you mean cars…..I’m sorry, err kind of average I suppose :¬)
Not to toot my own horn but I’m maybe the best driver I know.
I hope this course also advised you to always carry a roll of duct tape in your automobile. duct tape can be used for many applications, if your auto has problems on the interstate. every car should have at least one roll of duct tape inside.
I am a great driver….I could teach the course but truthfully I would not want to be in that car in front of me!
@john65pennington Not completely through, but I do have a kit in my car and I do believe it has duct tape in it. I always assumed it may be for a leak till I can get to a service station.
@deni, Yeah, I thought so too. Actually as a driver I am pretty good but I really lacked a lot of imformation about what to do in emergencies and little things about what can cause a blow out. Things that I feel if more drivers where aware they may actually be better drivers for it.
@Cruiser, uhm. That would be labeled as aggressive driving. :(
@lucillelucillelucille I will say my husband thinks he is an excellent driver and in a sense he is. His reaction time and knowing what to do in an emergency is awesome. However, some emergencies arise because of the risks he takes. Example, Always driving along side a truck instead of moving over a lane to be out of a trucks blind spot. All along he thought it was only on the left side. It is on the left and right and behind.
And not every van comes with a rear view mirror. So they may not be aware when you are behind them and may be in a blind spot if you are too close.
Anyway, you may want to re-evaluate your skills if everyone else thinks your not that great of a driver. If other people have a bored look when you drive, than you are cautious, if they have a look of apprehension or straight fear, than you are a nightmare driver. LOL
If your first vehicle was a horseless carriage, you may want to consider giving up your license. LOL
Very skilled.
I’m heel n toin all in your shit!
On a track I’m fine. On a public road I tend to be too agressive and too intolerant of other road users stupidty. So I take public transport and do my bit to save the world while relaxing and reading a book.
I’m incredibly good….... at driving like an a**hole
@Pandora That would be labeled as good aggressive driving! ;)
I’m a very good driver, but then I have to be because I like to drive aggressively and I like to try insane/stupid things when I get a chance. If the conditions merit I’m very safe. But other times watch out.
very skilled with great reflexes and depth perception.
I don’t think I’m a very good driver, BUT I think I’m far better than most :-/
And BTW, I prefer to take the bus or subway rather than drive most places locally, and the train for long distance.
@Pandora -People have let out blood-curdling screams when I drive cry babies! :)
So very sad. :(( LOL
You should all play this music as you drive, link
Play his music as you drive in bad traffic. :D
Brilliant if I may say so myself!
I had my one and only accident when I was 16 and my car hit a patch of ice. I have been driving for 51 years, and received one ticket, for going 45 in a 35 mile zone about 30 years ago. I am signing up for a senior defensive class to get a discount on my insurance.
