What's your IQ?
I got bored and decided to take this IQ test, turns out my IQ is 129. Whats yours?

@rebbel Is it really, or are you just messing with me? Lol.
Around 160, don’t remember the exact score.
2…...Low…lol. I don’t know anymore.
I have no idea. I took a test many years ago, but I forget the score now.
High enough to know that it doesn’t really matter. (Read: I qualify for Mensa but would never actually apply to join.)
@Mom2BDec2010 no, I’m not the super genius, my two younger brothers’ IQ’s blow mine out of the water, they’re both around 170, which I think is considered as genius level.
I took one of those test a few years ago. I think it was pretty high…but for the life of me I can’t remember what it was but I know it was high. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it ;).
High enough to know better…
@Winters
Curious. Genius level IQ begins at 160 from my understanding, and I find it curious that you and your two brothers all have such high IQ’s. They say that some component of intelligence is hereditary, but typically IQ’s in those ranges are anomalies, not norms. How old are your brothers by the way? You probably know that tests before 16 are not really valid. Do your parents have measured IQ’s? Sorry, this is just really interesting to me.
Nope, it’s about 140 and over to be considered a genius. I’m just shy 41 points.
It fluctuates about 10 points depending on if I’m in school and remember how to do all the questions.

@Katexyz
I’ve always heard that true genius level was around 170, I just never took the time too look into it.
One of my brothers is about to turn 18, the other is 8, but the 8 year old is showing that he has a much greater capacity than either my almost 18 year old brother or me.
My Dad has an IQ of around 135, my mom has never taken the test.

@Winters
There’s a lot of discrepancy at the actual point. Some have it as high as 180, others as “low” as 140. This is why I used 160, cause it’s in the middle and makes a good amount of sense to me to use.
That’s very interesting Winters. Did your parents have a particular method of raising you and your brothers which would possibly improve IQ scores (for example challenging you while you were still very young with more advanced concepts).
For the record, what qualifies as “genius level” depends on the test you take. The scales vary. What you should go by is your percentile. That’s universal.
Edit: Not that you really should count on IQ for much of anything. All a high IQ really means is you’re good at taking tests. Some of the biggest idiots I know are technically geniuses, according to tests.
I’m genius level and I test well and I know it doesn’t mean jack shit. My son is off the charts and much good may it do him.
@Katexyz I would just say that they were very encouraging/discouraging. Encouraging when it came to books, knowledge in general, music, outdoor activities, healthy foods. Discouraging when it came to video games, comic books, junk food, etc. They pretty much kept us mentally and physically active, not a whole lot of time to let our “brains rot.”
@Trillian you are right in a sense, IQ does not necessarily mean that one’s brain is going to be able to contribute anything significant to society, such as Marilyn vos Savant.
@Winters
Well that’s cool, I wonder what my life would have been like if my parents had done that. Huh, interesting. Thanks for answering my questions, I’ve added you :D
I took an IQ test a few years ago. It was 127. Meh…
I might have known once, but it wasn’t worth remembering. It’s got me where I wanted to go.
Anyway, different instruments vary widely in their measurements and scales. My husband used to say he had scores to prove he was everything from a genius to an imbecile. One thing is for sure, though: little online quizzes are not IQ tests.
I’ve never been tested in any official capacity. I’ve taken a few informal tests (from bookstores and the like), and usually score in the high 130s to low 140s. Not bad for someone with a learning disability, I guess.
ya i’m too lazy to find my own test.. link yours yo
The number has three digits in it.
How come so many people online always got such high IQ’s lol. Anyways mine is 84. There I said it. I’ll just crawl in a hole now.
@Symbeline
Together we can seriously make the average make a drop.
At the moment, -9. However, I once took an online IQ test and it came up 135. However, I found that as I took the same test over and over it gradually went up, so now I’m a genius! As far as that test is concerned, anyway!
I’d really like the link to this test. I’m curious.
@TheOnlyNeffie—-yeah, you’re in line….i asked earlier about it too…:)
i think that Mom2BDec2010 is having her 3rd sets of dreams by now…:)
I hate to break it to ya, @Mom2BDec2010, but everyone here is trying to be nice and let you feel good. The average IQ of jellies is close to 150. Just consider yourself lucky they let you play in their sandbox. I know I do. Last I heard, my IQ was getting close to @zen_.‘s Well, “close” is a relative term. Shall we say… in the same state as his? Every day, I keep expecting fluther to ask me to turn in my union card.
IQ may be interesting to educators and personnel directors. That should be enough to tell you how interesting it should be to you.
@Stasi I just searched online and took one that I randomly clicked on. It gave me 133, but I have no idea how accurate it actually was.
Last test I took it was 135 but I’m a moron when it comes to relationships.
Here’s a few IQ scores of famous individuals:
Albert Einstein
IQ Score 160
Bill Gates
IQ Score 160
Stephen Hawking
IQ Score 160
Dolph Lundgren
IQ Score 160
Bill Clinton
IQ Score 137
James Woods
IQ Score 180
Kim Ung Yong
IQ Score 210
And if you’re like me you say wow…“Who the fuck is Kim Ung Yong?”
Did he fight Dolph Lundgren in Rocky 10?
@TheOnlyNeffie !!! link your random one :P what good is comparing IQ if they are all different tests. maybe it’s just me .
@Symbeline
Yes Rocky does porn cause he’s down on his luck.
Awww, @Dewey420 I don’t remember which one I clicked. I will try to find it again.
Okay, I found it. But I will warn you, it has a ton of advertisements at the end that you have to skip through. http://www.free-iqtest.net/
In the mid ‘80’s, a friend told me about Mensa. He was a member and thought I’d like it. Out of curiosity, more than anything, I went when Mensa offered an IQ test. I was curious what the test would be like. I was amused when it said the test had been developed in the ‘60’s. I had no idea how I did. There were times I just guessed at the answer. I cracked up, when I got the formal letter from Mensa. It was very nice, but said, they regretted to tell me that I missed qualifying by one point! They encouraged me to try again in the future. I thought that was really funny!
It is 0. Plus if I do an electro encepahlogram, the needle does NOT move past 0.————————————————————-..........—————————————
Oh well without wishing to brag. Mine is exceptionally high, relatively speaking. I mean I Q at the bank. I Q while shopping. Damn it, I Q at my own own bathroom door when waiting for the wife & then my daughter on a morning :¬)

I don’t remember what one I took :/ You all make me feel pretty dumb. Haha.
I took an online test once. I scored 96 i think.. I got bored and started guessing lol.
109. I feel dumb next to you lot.
Oh… like he knows anything.
I try to tell myself that the only thing IQ measures is one’s ability at IQ tests…
@downtide
How are your attempts at trying to tell yourself that going?
@SeventhSense not very well, when all the smart people are disclosing their IQs… :(
@downtide hardly anyone gave a number, I wouldn’t think too much about it. Different tests will give different outcomes in most cases. The number I gave for example, means absolutely nothing, since I got it from a spammy online IQ test. I’ve read countless posts from you on Fluther… and I feel pretty confident saying that you’re far from dumb. :)
Hey @downtide, did you take one of those internet IQ tests? You know, those tests mean absolutely nothing whatsoever, don’t you?
In fact, the intelligence part is realizing that they only use those tests as an excuse to spam all over you. A real IQ test must be timed and administered by an authorized tester. That’s a little different than plunking along the internet and taking an un-timed pseudo test out of boredom in the middle of the night after surfing porn. Fuggedaboudit!
@RealEyesRealizeRealLies The one I took most recently was an official one I took a few years back whilst being assessed for Aspergers. Before that I did one at school but that was nearly 30 years ago and the result of that one was a bit higher (but not much). I haven’t ever done an internet one.
Then I’d say you’re smarter than most people (like me) who have been duped into taking the internet IQ tests.
@downtide
Hey nobody has anything on anyone. I just found your wording funny.
It wasn’t meant to be a dig.
see I told you I suck at relationships..I am an equal opportunity offender though
I know someone who takes Mensa tests over and over trying to boost their IQ….I don’t think that’s the point, is it? :) You is what you is, the first time you take it….
High enough for me to live a good life.
I’m an MA student who graduated from one of the top universities in Canada, I’ve had several articles and poems published, and my IQ is only 104.. it’s all bullshit, really. Could have also been because I gave up after getting bored of the test..
