IPhone users:do you find yourself hitting double spacebar on regular keyboards nowadays?

Asked by mcbealer (10232points) March 25th, 2008

Sometimes when I am typing on a regular keyboard I will inadvertently hit double spacebar at the end of a sentence. Funny!

Yes! They’re going to have to update the next version of Microsoft Word to accomodate all of us iPhone typists. (double space)

No, but I have noticed that when I use my pocket pc I always end up trying to scroll pages like on the iPhone and then I start
getting pissed that it won’t work LOL

I often find myself pushing Command to get an @ symbol, then realise that I have to press the shift key because my computer doesn’t have a touch-screen keyboard (me want)

I dont do that, but I do find myself swiping my blackberry 8700 screen to scroll down an email, only to find it doesn’t do anything, heh.

I have found myself trying to pick my nose, and have ended up pokeing my self in the eye! I blame Apple for this? My wife looks really really, scared!

No, because I turned that feature off. I am “old-school” and put 2 spaces in between sentences still (and I’m annoyed that many internet sites delete the second space because I find it visually easier to read when the second space is present).

However, I do sometimes forget to capitalize “I” because I let the iPhone do it for me… the same with the capital “P” on iPod and iPhone…. I let auto-correct do it for me on the iPhone :)

@Hearcat ~ yes, I also leave two spaces at the end of my sentences on regular non-iPhone typing. I like the convenience of the auto-period on the iPhone though, in fact I wish they would add one for a comma.

YES!!! I totally do that now! How funny! I’m glad I’m not the only one!!!

I don’t really do that but I was wondering why document editing software (like Microsoft Word) doesnt auto-correct like the iPhone does. I know it does a little bit, but not to the extent that iPhone does.

Hmm… what does hitting double-space do on an iPhone anyway? (for those like me who don’t know)

mcbealer's avatar

@jonno ~ try it, it auto corrects the end of your sentences with a period.

I don’t have an iPhone to try it with though :) Just curious.

@jonno ~ gotcha, well it’s pretty nifty. Do you think you will get an iPhone down the line?
