I try to get out and do karaoke at least once a month; it’s a fun way to blow off some steam. Do any of you actually go out to do karaoke on purpose like I do? What’s your song list like? What are some of your personal favorites?
My short list:
“It’s a Sin” – Pet Shop Boys
“Mad World” – Gary Jules
“Pain” – Three Days Grace
“Miss Murder” – AFI
“Piano Man” – Billy Joel
“Dead Man’s Party” – Oingo Boingo
“Nobody’s Diary” – Yazoo
“Blvd of Broken Dreams” – Green Day
“Hotel California” – Eagles
“Metro” – Berlin
“Sober” – Pink

You couldn’t pay me to go to a karaoke bar.
The last time I went to karaoke with some friends a few months ago, I just had to sing Big Yellow Taxi (Joni Mitchell) and Time Is Running Out (Muse).
Me and my sister used to sing “loveshack” :) Haha.
I love Karoake and I cannot sing worth a damn, but it doesn’t stop me anyway. I laugh my ass off. and I don’t even have to be drunk to do it! First time I sang karaoke was in Hong Kong. You cannot just sit and watch others sing as that is considered rude behavior, so I had to sing and picked Hey Jude by the Beatles (only song they had in English) and I had a blast!
Hot Child in the City – Nick Guilder probably sang this more times than any other song
Blvd of Broken Dreams – Green Day—I love to sing this one!
Paradise by the Dashboard Light – Meatloaf—gotta sing with another person
Only the Good Die Young – Billy Joel
Piano Man by Billy Joel is definitely my tune.
I try to choose songs that aren’t too long (my younger brother sings the longest Michael Jackson songs ever) because I’ll blow my voice out and I don’t want to torture the people listening to me. Here are few more that I’ve been known to attempt when out with friends (and ONLY when I’m out with friends):
I Love Rock n Roll by Joan Jett
Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy (I really shouldn’t be allowed to cover Queen, though.)
Keep Fishin’ by Weezer
Birdhouse in Your Soul by They Might be Giants (this is one of my favourites.)
Sunday Morning by No Doubt
Elvis Presley‘s, Suspicious Minds…… :-/
The ladies love this ;-)
The Final countdown by Europe too…… “GO SCOOBY” Lol……..
Been a while…
I sang this for a friend at their 40th birthday party. After my performance,I got alot of requests…to never do that again whatever…;)
I do croony stuff like Sinatra, and I can totally bring down the house with “I will always love you.”
I suck at singing, in general, but my voice is close to perfect when singing Loving You! (scroll to 0:57)
Anything by Michael Bolton or Barry Manilow.
I do a great Tequila! if only i could remember the words!
ANYTHING by Journey lol and Let’s give ‘em somethin’ to talk about
@CrazyRedHead – Wow.. Journey huh? They are very hard to do. I’ve only heard a couple people that can rock the mic with a Journey tune. My personal favorite is “Wheel in the Sky”, but darned if I can sing it. :P
I would tackle anything by U2 or Sting, my favourites being “With or Without You” and “Englishman In New York”
Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody, best performed in a large group and with some form of alcoholic beverages.
Margaritaville. and I ‘ve got friends in low places.
Jambalya
Hell by the Squirrell Nut Zippers
Moon River if I can do my Tom Waits impression
I Got You Babe even though I’m the worst singer!
“Goodbye Earl” by the Dixie Chicks.
“Heart of Glass”—Blondie.
