@iamthemob There are several states that allow same sex marriage – Are you rejected for some other reason?
@YARNLADY Unfortunately, regardless of the several (or one tenth or so) states that allow same sex marriage, DOMA, which is still the federal law of the land, prevents any same sex union from enjoying the over 1300 federal rights of currently available for heterosexual couples. So no – the fact that I am a U.S. citizen is the only reason that I am rejected. Kind of lame, right?
@iamthemob
What marriage rights are available to same-sex married couples in the states that recognize same-sex marriages?
@tinyfaery
Thanks for the link.
I see that the DOMA was signed by Clinton in 1996.
Apparently some Democrats are not the lesser of two evils when it comes to marriage equality.
You are correct. Obama does not support gay marriage. As a side note, Clinton was able to pass welfare reform that was worse than any previously suggested Republican bill. Politics is not as polarized as the media would like us to believe.
12 years. We were waiting to become fully financially independent.
Almost 4 months and we’ve been happily together for 28 years.
