So what's going to happen to the people who already have iPhones, when the 3G iPhone comes out?
So when the new 3G iPhone comes out, will we be stuck using the EDGE Network? I was wondering that because I just got my iPhone not too long ago. This sucks.

I heard a rumor that there may be an option to trade-in an 1st gen. iPhone for a $200 discount.
Most likely, nothing will happen. We were the early adopters, and there is a cost to having to have this phone earlier than others.
well, this iPhone user is going to sell his 2.5G phone and buy a 3G version when it comes out…
He also expects that his 3G phone will have a 3G network to support it
I agree with dpena2009, we were top dogs for a time, but the evolution of technology is soon aproaching and we will drop to a more humble second place. You could always try to sell your iPhone, but you might wanna do it before the 3G comes out. Then again you could always hope for the trade in like hearkat mentioned.
The wonderful world of apple…. You by the best and then out done the next day.
When it comes out, my wife will get a brand new (to her), one year old 2.5G iPhone. I’ll get the new 3G phone and proclaim it to be the best thing ever.
No 3G service in my area….and….with as little time that I spend on EDGE, I really don’t care.
I’m in denial about this…
Hey remember when the razr phones first came out and how cool everyone thought they were? LMAO
I gave my razr to my 2 year old when I got my iPhone. In a year or so he will probably get my iPhone too : )
@cheebdragon, The good thing about the iPhone is that it can be updated since its mostly just software anyways. I might sell mine to help pay for a better model, but with all those updates the iPhone should last untill it falls apart from overuse.
What happened to the people who bought RAZRs when the iPhone came out?
What happened to the people who bought iBooks when the MacBook came out?
What happened to the people who bought MacBooks when the MacBook Air came out?
Answer: technology progresses. The cool thing you just bought isn’t as cool as the new thing that’s out now, but it still does everything it used to.
