I will in a few days. I’m going as Magenta for Rocky Horror in Michigan.
And, I dress up every year, as an adult.
I certainly have and am planning on doing it again this year ;)
I do all the time. Just because I’m adult doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy Halloween anymore. As a matter of fact, it is my absolute favorite holiday.
I haven’t what do suggest?
I have almost every year and the kids in the neighborhood make a point of hitting our house to get scared by Mr. Cruiser!
@Mama_Cakes Love you for that! :)
I don’t really dress up. I did once a couple years ago and I was really bored. Though, it was just me getting dragged to a bunch of people’s houses who I didn’t know.
I do it every single year. I’m a Halloween kid. Man, I can’t wait to get candy corn!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :O
Shoot, I’m not an adult. Wait! 18 means I’m an adult right? I’ll be an adult this Halloween if that’s the case.
I’m 31 and I still dress up almost every Halloween. It’s a lot of fun!
Yup. Last year me and 3 friends were all members of Team Zissou. It was great.
Yes, but now only for a function, so not every year. Our company used to allow us to dress up for a Halloween celebration at work, and they held a judging contest. In a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment, it was a nice, frivolous break.
@Frenchfry Are you looking for ideas? The most creative costumes I’ve worn are:
* My best friend and I dressed exactly alike as little girls and braided our hair. Only two of our braids were intertwined. We went as Siamese twins.
* Using my brother’s old Boy Scout uniform as a costume, wearing no make-up and substituting glasses for the normal contacts. It threw most people off.
* As a last-minute costume, I stitched socks, a hankie, a slip and a pair of underpants to a sweat suit. I went as “Static Cling.”
@Pied_Pfeffer Funny your the only one that caught that. I was hoping people would of told me what they dress in. Wow you are creative. I suppose I could of worded my question differently. I thought this year would be fun and my three year old being a only child would enjoy it.
Yup. Last year I went to a party as Jennifer Beals in Flashdance.
Last year was my freshman year of college and most of the girls dress really slutty…so I decided to be “subtly slutty” and my boyfriend and I went as a CEO and his secretary! =]
Yes I dress up. My friends and I still even trick or treat, but with beer mugs instead of candy sacks.
I dress up almost every year. Usually my son and I will do something together (one year we were both ghosts, stuff like that). I’m not sure what we will do this year, but I’m sure we’ll do something.
@CrazyRedHead Darn. I was hoping you would say, ”...and my secretary.” :)
@Pied_Pfeffer that would have been a really really good idea…maybe this year hahaha
Of course I dress up every year and don’t plan on stopping!
Nope, Halloween is not celebrated as “strongly” here as it is in the US, neither is “trick or treating” done here at all. There’ll be halloween themed things around that time, and i suppose there are some that have halloween parties or something, but i’ve never been to one or known one who did that or dressed up for halloween. So….NO. :)
I haven’t dressed up for Halloween since college, but technically I was an adult then. Usually I’d make up a costume to do trick-or-treating for canned goods with my sorority. We got to relive our childhoods a bit while supporting the local food bank. I know one year I went as a farmer, but I can’t remember what my other costumes were.
Another year, I went to a costume part and dressed as a vampire. I wore a long, slinky black dress, black heels, and a black cape lined with red. I wore my long hair down, kind of wild, and long fake nails that I painted black. And, of course, vampire fangs. Not the plastic, whole-mouth fangs, but the kind that only attach to your canines and almost look real. I was so hot.
Now I just live vicariously through my kids and steal their candy when they go to bed.
I have dressed up every year for halloween up until I was 19. I miss dressing up. Maybe this year I will.
No. halloween is not a big thing in the UK for anyone of adult (or even teen-)age. I have been to a couple of fancy dress parties though, and I dress up when I go to science fiction conventions.
